1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to lay down the systematic procedures for the various activities
required for Fire rated gypsum partition work to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with
the approved shop drawings and contract specification.
2. SCOPE:
Scope of this Method Statement is to define work procedure for fire rated Drywall partition installation.

5. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1. Project Manager
Ensure that team has taken the necessary Work Permit for the task.
To ensure people safety.
Arrange required Painting material and manpower based on schedule.
Arrange the required tools for related work.
Co-ordination with procurement team for arranges materials.
5.2. Project Engineer
Organize team meeting for work allocation as per approved schedule from STT/LL.
Update and inspect the workplace and workers physical fitness.
Ensure all safety requirements has been fulfilled.
To ensure necessary permit and area clearance prior to start the activity.
Monitoring and controlling operations and conduct necessary measures to prevent non-
confirmation works.
5.3. Safety Officer
Review the WMS & suggest activity wise preventive measures.
Based on the approved WMS-Conduct the Risk assessment for tasks outlined in the WMS.

Ensure to suggest appropriate control measures to mitigate or eliminate identified hazards.
Ensure Work Permit System is being followed prior starting of work.
Ensure & provide a site-specific safety induction for all operatives involved in the operation.
Conduct the Routine Toolbox talk as per the EHS-MAP or Job Specific.
Ensure entire workmen is using appropriate PPE’s considering the task or activity.
Check the suitable & appropriate safety requirements during operation of the works.
Monitor implementation and enforce compliance.
Check, inspect & monitor the site to avoid Unsafe Acts & Unsafe Conditions.
Investigate incidents and report findings along with project management team.
Maintain documentation and records to easily accessible locations.
Facilitate continuous improvement of the WMS.
To ensure proper signages are placed in location with proper visibility.
Ensure all obtain work permit are being closed on timely manner etc.
5.4. Quality Engineer
Identified site quality engineer is responsible for preparation of project specific quality documents
in consultation and support from regional quality representative.
Make sure effective implementation of approved quality plans and quality control procedure
during execution of works.
Responsible for communicating with all site staff about quality requirement and responsible for
reviewing all related subjects.
Regional quality representative will be responsible for organizing Quality Audits with coordination
of site and project management.
Responsible for all corrective action in coordination with project team and close the non-
conformity identified during quality audits.
5.5. Mechanic
To check and ensure all equipment & machinery has gone through fitness test and safe for
operating.

7. MATERIALS
7.1 Materials will be use as per the Material submittal approved by the Consultant/Client and
routing as well sizes will be as per Approved shop drawings in co-ordination with other services.
Material test certificate shall be provided for each lot of received materials.

8. METHODOLOGY
Application Methodology for Fire rated drywall partition.
Before starting the fire rated drywall partition installation work activity, work location should be
inspected by execution team with safety person.
Area should be cleared & clean before starting the work.
Sufficient material should be available at site before starting the work.
Sufficient power & lights should be available at site before starting the work.
Start the marking on floor as per approved flooring plan GFC/VFC.
Fix the floor channel (94mm x 32mm x 32mm x 0.5mm) on the floor with anchor fastener
(8x45mm) 600mm c/c in zigzag manner.
Transfer this line on the ceiling with the help of Laser machine or plumb.
Similarly fix the Deep ceiling channel (94mm x 50mm x 50mm x 0.5mm) on ceiling with anchor
fastener (8x45mm) 600mm c/c in zigzag manner along with Piece of fire line board to avoid direct
contact of ceiling channel with slab.
Cut all studs 10mm shorter than actual, place the stud into floor & ceiling channel (92mm x 36mm
X 34mm x .5mm) at c/c 610mm (As per specs) for increasing the length of stud, ensure overlapping
of stud is 600mm.

Ensure that studs are placed in one direction (Orientation), check the vertical alignment of stud
with the spirit level.
Fix the noggin channel using metal to metal screw on every 1200mm height.
Put the supports (Plywood) for switch, sockets, DB Etc.
fix one side boarding with 25mm drywall screw at 600mm for first layer boarding & 35/50mm
screws at 300mm for second layer boarding. Staggered the board joints. Fill first layer board joints
with jointing compound to avoid fire & sound leakage.
Boards will be pass on height through scaffolding, labours will be stand on every platform for
pasing the boards.
Keep minimum 5mm gap between floor & board, fill this gap with fire sealant & jointing compound.
All boards should be installed in vertically on the stud.

Maintain uniform gap 10mm between ceiling and boards. Do not fix board on ceiling channel,
screws fix board on stud 20mm below than the flanges of ceiling channel.
Fix the glass wool (50mm thick) with wrap tissue paper, holding clips on back side of board using
double side tape, place the glass wool inside the cavity of stud & lock with glass wool holding clips.
Put the other side of the board, ensure board should be staggered manners.
Fill first layer board joints with jointing compound, finish all the joints of boards with the jointing
compound & paper tape/fiber tape. Spread 1st coat of compound 100 to 150mm on tape after
drying do the sanding to remove excess material. Apply 2nd coat 200mm to 250mm wide & third
coat 300mm to 450mm wide.
Do sanding after drying of each coat & handover for painting.
CP 606 silicon will be fill between board & floor gap, same as ceiling slab & board gap. Gap should
be minimum 5mm.

9 EMERGENCY PROCEDURE
9.1. IN CASE OF FIRE
In case of fire, Fire watcher shall use the fire extinguisher and extinguished the fire
and same shall be communicated to STT & JLL.
We will ensure all people involved in the task are trained in firefighting using fire
extinguisher.
If fire extinguishing is not possible, withdraw from the work area and communicate to
JLL & STT and evacuate all the persons from that location and ERP procedure will be
followed.
Do not place yourself or others in danger by attempting to fight fire if you are not
trained to do so.
Remove adhesive & Insulation material immediately, if nearby from fire area. Isolate
any inflammable materials if present nearby.
Stay away and keep examine the situation till ERP team arrives at the scene.
No one will use the elevator; every person will be evacuated through staircase only.
Follow the floor emergency exit arrow route mark.
9.2 PERSON FALL FROM HEIGHT
Person shall not be moved in case he has fall from height and is suspected to have injured.
First aid for any other injury sustained shall be provided at site.
The casualty shall be gently lifted and placed on a stretcher so as not to disturb his back.
He shall be made comfortable by removing his shoes, loosening his clothes, and given
some water to drink.
Immediately a vehicle will be summoned, and the stretcher gently lifted and placed inside the
vehicle.
9.3 COLLAPSE OF MOBILE SCAFFOLDING
Alert people in the area for immediate need of evacuate and same shall be
communicatedto STT/ LL team.
Disconnect the Power Supply and cordon off the area.
Before approach to casualty for rescue, ensure unstable / hanging components above
your pathway are in stable condition from further collapse and it is safe to proceed for
rescue.
Search for trapped or injured people.
Seek for emergency first aid, arrange for stretcher.
Stabilize the incident and provide life safety.
After preliminary required first aid, rush the casualty to an identified hospital nearby
hospital.

11 QUALITY MEASURES
Procedure described in the method statement (MS) for Fire rated partition work shall be
followed as below listed quality formats:

e) Excavation Check List (ECL)
f) Approved BOQ Line Item (BOQ)
