Guide Written Article: “Foreign Policy”
Objective: Students have to be able to:
▪ Write a summary chapter 4: “Foreign Policy “on the most important ideas & research other
sources based on the topic.
▪ Mention about the foreign policy making process on a specific decision - making situation &
the importance of domestic influences that guide the process.
▪ Make a deep analysis of an interesting article by identifying different elements studied
previously that can influence the Foreign Policy directly or indirectly.
▪ Explain three factors that can hamper individual decision making in an international crisis.
Methodology:
Working in groups of 4, students will research an important article based on foreign policy that will
be suitable or adaptive for the information required in this guide; including the procedures as
examples to support the facts which will include the role of domestic influences: Bureaucracies as
interest groups, also, the fact that different foreign policy process take place in societies in a similar
or different way.
Students have to consider the following elements in the article:
a. Paste the article in the space provided.
b. Underline the most important ideas.
c. Make the article deep analysis by identifying the elements in the investigation chart.
d. Write a three-paragraph summary of the article, consider the introduction, development and
the conclusion.
e. Introduction: Write four sentences giving background information on the topic.
f. Development: Write three body paragraphs of five sentences each, use a topic sentence and
supporting details (as examples or statistical data).
g. Write a brief three sentence paragraph to conclude your article.
h. Define at least ten of the most important terms that are difficult for you to understand.
The product expected is a PDF research paper, which has to be uploading in the Classwork assign
to this purpose in Google Classroom on May 3-2021
Sources of the information have to be reliable, not Wikipedia, they have to be cited at footnotes and
Chicago Manual Style.
