THE AMAZING OLD

HOUSES OF PERÚ
Who are here for stay

In Peru, there are types of houses that were built a long

time ago. These were rebuilt to be more modern. However,
not all houses in the regions were remodeled at the same
time. This infographic will show the different types of old
houses in the coastal, highland and jungle regions of Peru:

1935 KOTOSH

Most of the Andean houses were for peasant

people but there were already larger ones
that were used for large families, they were
made of stone walls and wet mud, with
triangular roofs
wooden, covered with straw. They had a big
door, windowns, four
or more rooms with beds made of cowhide or
sheepskin and a small kitchen.

1843 HOUSES KUELAP

This old town is made of stone, and it is in

the jungle of Peru. They were built by the
Chachapollas, these are carved with
anthropomorphic, animal and geometric drawings.
They are a tourist attraction, but they were
also for many people who lived there. The
houses were made of stone, with a circular
floor plan, straw roof, they had two floors,
the first floor was on the ground and the
second is up, there were two rooms and a door
with an entrance to the garden.

1997 SUMAQ WASI

In Tacna these houses are one of the most

popular, because they were made so that
people do not catch a cold, since the
houses of the peasants were made of adobe,
stone or wood. But these were improved
with triangular walls and roof, wooden
floor, two doors, a bed, dining room,
kitchen and bathroom. There is no garden
or garage, because there are no roads and
it is very cold.
