Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed faculty, distinguished guests, proud parents, and my
fellow completers,
Today, I stand here not as an individual, but as a representative of my fellow
completers. I am honored to express our collective gratitude to those who have
supported and guided us throughout this journey.
We oftentimes forget the significance of the people around us, just like those math
formulae that seem like they were made up just to confuse us.
Take our teachers for example. Teaching is sometimes a thankless job. It's underpaid
and often underappreciated by society, but without these amazing teachers who spent
every day of their lives for the last few years educating us, we could never have
learned, and we would not be here today.
And if we have our second parents in our school, how could we forget about our first?
They are the ones who raised us from the very beginning. They answered our
questions and listened to our problems. They put up with our whining. And through
their efforts for years, as well as ours, here we are now, completing our four long years
of junior high school. Thank you, parents, every one of you.
I'd like everyone to join me in applauding our amazing parents and our amazing
teachers right now to thank them.
Come to think of it, we are the batch of students who were deprived of the most. The
global pandemic robbed us of what would have been a memorable elementary school
graduation. Not only that, but it also cut our junior high school life in half. And as if
that was not enough, our final year in junior high school was shortened.
Yet, amidst these unprecedented challenges, we found resilience. We adapted to online
classes, endless self-learning modules, and digital assignments.
We learned to balance the uncertainty of our times with the certainty of our goals.
These experiences have shaped us into a generation that can handle adversity with
grace and tenacity.
I am aware that the lessons we learned and the experiences we had during that time
cannot be collectively defined by words. That is why I only have one thing to say to
all of you. You did well. Being here is enough proof of all of you overcoming your
struggles.
Congratulations, my fellow Grade 10 students.
Thank you.
