Troubleshooting Guide About This Document
About This Document
Overview
This document describes how to perform routine maintenance and
troubleshooting for WLAN products. First check whether a fault is an emergency
fault. If it is an emergency fault, immediately recover the faulty module using the
pre-defined troubleshooting methods, and then restore services. Record all the
major operations you have performed, especially key operations such as restarting
devices. Before performing key operations, confirm the operation feasibility, back
up data, and prepare emergency and security measures. Only qualified personnel
can perform key operations after the customer's approval is obtained. For details
about installation, configuration, commands, MIBs, logs, and alarms, see the
product documentation of the corresponding software version, for example, AC
V200R019C00 Product Documentation.
Applicable Products and Versions
This document is applicable to V200R007 and later versions of WLAN products.
Reading Guide
The maintenance phase starts after installation and deployment are complete. In
this phase, network administrators need to adjust the network and services as well
as troubleshoot faults. Some enterprises may have their own routine maintenance
regulations, requiring network administrators to check the network running status
step by step.
This maintenance provides comprehensive maintenance instructions for network
administrators on how to detect, locate, rectify, and prevent faults. By referring to
this document, network administrators can perform maintenance and learn about
the implementation and best practices of each feature.
Table 1 describes how to use this document. Network administrators need to read
through this document to understand the fault triggering mechanism and
troubleshooting roadmap. The administrators are advised to customize the
troubleshooting guide based on the onsite networking and services to quickly
locate and rectify faults.

Chapter Introduction and Application
Scenario
Using eDesk Pro for Network eDesk Pro is a lightweight
Inspection and Troubleshooting maintenance tool developed for
enterprise datacom products. It helps
maintenance engineers quickly and
comprehensively analyze fault
information when network devices are
faulty. eDesk Pro can be used to
inspect devices on the live network to
detect potential faults and ensure
normal device running.
Using the Troubleshooting Insights for The Troubleshooting Insights is a
Fault Diagnosis and Rectification wizard provided by Huawei for simple
troubleshooting and information
collection, mainly describing display
commands and information collection
commands. If network engineers
cannot directly operate devices, they
can send the Troubleshooting Insights
to onsite engineers to help perform
simple troubleshooting operations or
collect fault information.
Risky Operations This chapter describes the risk
operations in hardware and software
maintenance, which may jeopardize
personal safety, cause devices to stop
running, or interrupt services.
Routine Maintenance This chapter provides commonly used
methods to maintain AC and Fit AP
products, troubleshoot faults, and
collect fault information. It will help
you quickly understand key preventive
maintenance measures to detect and
remove potential risks.

Troubleshooting Guide About This Document
Chapter Introduction and Application
Scenario
Troubleshooting The troubleshooting procedure
includes observing fault symptoms,
collecting information, analyzing
problems, and finding root causes. All
possible causes of a fault can be
grouped into multiple cause sets to
reduce problem complexity. Each
troubleshooting chapter describes how
to quickly locate and rectify faults,
analyze root causes, and perform
network optimization and hardening
based on the typical troubleshooting
process. If the fault symptom that a
network administrator encounters
cannot be found in the corresponding
troubleshooting chapter, or the specific
feature or hardware involved in the
fault has been determined, search for
troubleshooting guidance and case by
feature in the chapter
"Troubleshooting: Others", or search
for the keyword related to the fault in
the document.
TechNotes TechNotes, usually practice oriented,
are short technical documents that
describe specific issues and provide
solutions. Huawei engineers work with
customers around the world to provide
solutions to the most complex
problems, and record their experience
in TechNotes.

Contacting Huawei for Technical If network engineers cannot rectify
Support faults based on the maintenance
guide, they can contact Huawei for
technical support in the following
ways:
● Intelligent Q&A customer service
system: supports interactive Q&A,
covering multiple scenarios such as
configuration deployment,
troubleshooting, and command and
alarm information query. In
addition, the system provides online
customer service technical support.
● Global service hotline: provides
technical support by phone calls. If
the fault has a great impact, you
are advised to dial the global after-
sales service hotline first.
● Troubleshooting case library: In
addition to the fault cases provided
by technical support personnel, the
troubleshooting case library also
contains the fault cases provided by
Huawei partners.
