where they can seriously immerse themselves in their practice.

Pre-Assessment
Instructions:

1. Look at the walls of the classroom. What are posted on the walls? What heroes,
religious figures, lessons, visual aids, announcements, do you see posted?
- As I observed that classroom, I’ve noticed important details posted on the walls
including class officers, cleaners and inspirational quotes. Also, there are photos
of the earlier up to recent presidents in the Philippines and heroes.

2. Examine how pieces of furniture are arranged. Where is teacher’s table located?
How are the tables and chairs/desks arranged?
- The teacher’s table is located infront of the chairs of the students. The chairs
are arranged properly and has four columns for the left and right part of the
classroom and has five rows.

3. What learning materials or equipment are present?

- In the classrooms, there are smart televisions with HDMI; these equipments are
ready for each and every classroom. The teacher just has to connect the laptop
and it’s ready to go. Additionally, of course, there’s a blackboard, chalk, and
eraser where the teacher can write the important details that need to be added
during the discussion.

4. Observe the students. How many are occupying one room?

- As for the SPA class, there are only 28 students in one room. While in the
regular class, there are approximately 38 students.

5. Is the room well-lit and well-ventilated?

- The rooms are well-lit because of the lights and the natural light that the sun
provides. As for the ventilation system, there are only limited electricfans that’s
why when the weather is hot it is automatically hot inside the classroom.

Be guided by this pass as you do your observation. Ban accomplished the matrix to
record your data.

2. Teacher’s table The teacher’s table is neat and is located at the front middle of
the classroom.
3. Learners’ desks The number of learners’ desk depends on the class size but
there are two to three extra desks.
4. Blackboard There’s only one blackboard in every room but it is big enough
to write all the necessary information needed in the class.
5. Learning My classroom learning materials are good in that I can make

Participatory Learning

Design your Dream Classroom

Present your idea of a good school environment through any of these:

a) Descriptive paragraph
- I imagine my ideal classroom to be bright, wide open, with big windows set
open to invite the outdoors in. Walls are painted with soothing colors inspired by
artwork and quotes created by students. Flexible seating options, like plush
bean bags, adjustable desks, and cozy reading nooks, provide a comfortable
spot for collaboration as well as independent work. On one side of the room,
there is a resource center, which includes books, educational games, and art
supplies to spark creativity and discovery. Naturally, technology is organic to
the environment-teachers will find smart boards and charging stations readily at
hand. Plants and greenery throughout the room will create a very soothing
ambiance for pupils to focus on secure serenity and attentiveness. This space
was more like a community hub, making sure that the students' achievements
and announcements were posted on the bulletin board so that every learner felt
valued and inspired.

Post-Assessment
Analyze
1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of
the students going to school? What are your conclusion?
- As I have observed, I can say that having a conducive environment can make
the students show up in school every single day. Also, the classrooms should be
personalized so that they can feel belong and valued inside the classroom. On
the other hand, the teachers should also have their full support to their
students, and they should make them feel that they are welcomed, valued, and
appreciated.
-
2. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/How
does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?

5
FS1 – Observations of
STUDENT ACTIVITY
Week No.: 4 Teaching-Learning in Actual
SHEET School Environment

- The developing children and adolescents should have the ability to create a
positive learning environment that they need. Students are incredibly good
performers if they are assured of safety, comfort, and social influences. My
understanding of being a student is that the better-organized classroom, the
more hospitable, offers a secure environment of belonging, greatly influencing
emotional and psychological development for them.
Reflect
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why
not?
- Yes, I would like to teach in the school environment I observed because the
employees in the schoo are very kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. Also, the
students won’t make you feel that you’re just a student-teacher, but they will
respect and welcome you.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?

- Personally, a conducive school campus is well-organized, free of threats and
creates a safe environment; it must have provided for collaborative and quiet
reflection spaces for studying. The availability of access to technologies,
libraries, and open spaces improves learning further.
3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?
- The classroom should be well-structured, clean and well-arranged, which will
promote a sense of comfort and concentration. It is also a place where different
students' relationships are encouraged; sometimes, individual workspaces can
be available. Therefore, the presence of interesting materials, clear instructions
and a supportive teacher also enhance the experience of learning.
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number three?
- I can accomplish my kind of conducive learning environment by organizing the
space to welcome students and provide them with ample time for meaningful
collaboration, well broken up by time for individual work. Make sure the room
stays clean, and learning materials are interesting to avoid boredom. Lastly,
show friendship to the students, and as a teacher get closer and easier to
approach to foster better learning through good relationships.

5. Write your additional learnings and insights here.

- While I took my field study 1 course, I observed that there are times when you should act tough in
front of your students for you to control them because there are times when they feel that you’re
too kind; they will take advantage of that, and it will make them disrespectful. That is why we FS 1
students should draw boundaries with our students.
