Intimacy with God: Mark (3:14-15)

What do we understand by the word Intimacy?

Answer:

Intimacy means being very close to someone. It involves knowing them deeply,
sharing personal thoughts and feelings, and having a strong bond of trust and
affection. In the context of God, it means having a close, personal relationship
with Him, where you feel His love, guidance, and presence in your life.

The Key to True Purpose: The most important thing to finding real meaning of
Intimacy with God and direction in life.

1. Jesus picked 12 friends (disciples) to be with Him (Mark 3:14-15)


◦ He wanted to spend time, teach, and guide them.
◦ He wanted a close friendship, not just a distant one.
2. Relationship over rules:
◦ It's about knowing God, not just learning about Him.
◦ It's about feeling His love and help.
3. Knowing God personally:
◦ Learning about God is good, but not enough.
◦ We need to feel and know God ourselves.
4. Growing closer to God helps us understand (John 16:13-15):
◦ Spending time with God helps us know the truth.
◦ He helps us understand His words and plans.
5. Comfort in tough times (Psalm 23:4):
◦ Being close to God gives us peace when things are hard.
◦ We trust He's with us and helping us.

6. Purpose and direction (Jeremiah 29:11):


◦ Knowing God helps us understand His plans for us.
◦ We find out what we are meant to do.

7. Without God, we're lost (Psalm 100:3):

16. Stay connected to God (John 15:5):
◦ Without God, we're like branches without the vine.
◦ Stay connected to His love and life.
17. Stay in God's love and Word (John 15:7-10):
◦ Remain in His love and Word.
◦ Let His love and Word guide and encourage us.
18. Intimacy is a choice:
◦ Choose to seek and know Him.
◦ Prioritize your relationship with Him.
19. Effort and dedication yield eternal rewards:
◦ It's not easy but worth it.
◦ The rewards are eternal and the joy is unspeakable.

Help us to know You better, feel Your love, and follow Your guidance. Strengthen us
