Prompt:

NC State University is committed to building a just and inclusive community, one

that does not tolerate unjust or inhumane treatment, and that denounces it,
clearly and loudly. Please describe what those words mean to you and how you
will contribute to a more diverse and inclusive NC State environment.

Essay:

I am the one who will talk about equality. I’ve been practicing it throughout my life; it is
second nature for me. I’m sure all religions share the same ideas about equality, but I
want to bring a saying from the prophet Mohammad, which says:” there is no difference
between Arabic and not Arabic People and between white or black person, but except in
piety”. I’ve been raised applying this quote in my life, and I would like to bring it to NC
State University. Let me bring one example out of my life experience.

The idea of building a just and inclusive community means that everyone at NC State
University should be treated equally. The institution wants to promote the inclusion
of everyone who belongs to the community. This means that each member respects the
other regardless of their gender, cultural background, and beliefs. Any treatment of an
individual because of their differences is unacceptable.

Prompt:
How will you use an engineering degree to change the world for the better?

Essay:

As modern society is taking an innovative approach, technology is developing rapidly, bringing

advanced appliances and machines to make life easier. However, with technological
advancement come technical and practical issues, such as: problems with telecommunication,
dilemmas regarding computerized systems, or crises in industrial proceedings; that is when an
engineer's role comes into play. I hope to use my computer engineering degree to develop
solutions for all these socio-technological problems. I also desire to introduce programs that
would simplify a person's task at hand. My plan with an engineering degree fundamentally
revolves around getting people comfortable with technology as well as enhancing their life
luxury.

Prompt:
Tell a story from your life, describing an experience that either demonstrates
your character or helped to shape it.

Essay:
I was living in Jordan with my family and was attending school from kinder garden to 10th grade.
My dad suggested completing my high school years in the United States because it would be
more logical as I plan to attend universities in the United States. In the beginning, this was scary
because it will be quite a shift from the system I'm already acquainted with. And it will take me
away from my family and friends. But after a short period, everything changed. I am now much
more confident with my English and know how to find useful resources and study them all by
myself. This experience taught me not to stay in my comfort zone and to try every opportunity I
get.

Prompt:
Describe a goal that you have set and the steps you will take to achieve
it. What made you set this goal for yourself? What is your timeline to achieve
this goal? Who do you seek encouragement or guidance from as you work on this
goal?

Essay:

Computer science and programming correspond with my interests and passion. I try to
participate in every contest that mix between programming and problem-solving, one of them
being the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). It is a programming contest for school
students held once a year. To participate in this contest, you need to be from the top 4 across
your country, and I did it. I participated in the IOI twice but never got a medal. So, I have set a
goal to win a medal in my next participation, which will be within a year. I will be practicing
programming every day by solving problems from a website called Codeforces and getting
guidance from the top programmers in Jordan.
