PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES
The following section outlines the obligations of the players toward each other, organizers, and
the event.
● There is a zero-tolerance policy for cheating, stealing, and disrespect of other players,
organizers, or affiliated partners. Players in violation of this policy will be removed from
the event immediately without reimbursement of registration.
● The ITC Code of Conduct will be in full effect for this event, which can be found here:
[Link]
jUdtZvHKPTTR4Yo/edit, Which includes the persistent buff/debuff ruling.

● Players MUST submit their list ON TIME in the Simplified ITC Format into the BCP app:
[Link]
YmdJ3oxzZQIJMItys4kbWo6CHcyDi4/edit
● Players are expected to have a strong understanding of the rules of the game and their
chosen army.

Failure to do any of the following MAY result in a -100 generalship score:

● Submitting your list on time.
● Submitting your list in the requested format, and failing to resolve that before the list
submission date.
● Bring the appropriate and most up to date rules for your army and be able to respectfully
discuss rules disputes.
● Bring what you need to play, including but not limited to the 40k 9th edition rulebook, the
appropriate Warzone Book, relevant codices and FAQs for your army, tape measure,
dice, pen and paper.
● Bring at least 7 printed lists to the event: 1 for the event organizers and 1 for your
opponents to be able to view during matches. Printed lists do not need to follow the BCP
Submission format.
PLAYER PLACED TERRAIN
In the pregame steps outlined in the Warzone Nephilim, Steps [Link] the battlefield and 7.
Determine attacker and defender will be swapped. Then replace the second paragraph of
“create the battlefield” with the following:

1. If using a chess clock, this part will be part of the respective player's time.
2. The terrain will be split equally between attacker and defender. If a player has a unit with
the fortification role it will be added AFTER the terrain is split equally between players.
3. The defender will choose their deployment zone and the attacker will use the other zone.
4. Players will take turns placing terrain starting with the defender.
5. The terrain must be placed on their half of the table (as determined by board edge), 2
inches from the centre line, 4 inches from another terrain piece, and 4 inches from a
board edge. If a player has a unit with the fortification role, in addition to the
aforementioned rules, it must be placed wholly within their deployment zone.
6. The Terrain has been preselect to fit the table prior to the start of the event. If a player
cannot place their terrain, a TO will adjust the terrain to fit. The TO’s decision is final.

ARMIES ON DISPLAY
All players will be judged on the first day during armies on parade. Players may be requested to
set up on the second day for additional judging.
Players will set up their armies for paint scoring. Small painting infractions will see a reduction in
battle ready score. At this time any models found by judges not to meet WYSIWYG or painting
standards will be removed. Appropriate action will be taken if they are found in play after this
point.

“BYES”
50% of the time it happens every time. When there is an odd number of players, one player will
be left without an opponent. They will be given a choice:
● Take a 55 point win and not play during that round
● Play one of the judges and receive a 55 point win or whatever points they score in that
game, whichever is higher.

PLAYER MEETING
Before the event starts, players will be required to attend the player meeting to review event
policies and rules, expectations, and clarifications of anything unusual or specifically important
to this event. This is a final opportunity to ask any questions before the event begins. Players
will already have their first round matches to allow a smooth transition into the first round.

JUDGING & RULES DISPUTES

Players are encouraged to respectfully resolve rules disputes, and the most important rule is
encouraged for time. However, if the players do not agree on a resolution, rules disputes will be
resolved in the following way:
1. Using official 40k FAQ and Errata
2. 40k army codices and main rulebook
3. Judge’s decision

If a judge's decision is required, each player will present their case to the judge and the judge
will make a decision. All judge decisions will be considered final for the duration of the event.

CHESS CLOCKS
Chess clocks will not be mandatory for this event, but they will be available and may be
requested. Any player may request to use a chess clock for the duration of a round, which must
be used by both players.

● Each player will have one hour and twenty five minutes on their clock.
● The Clock starts when the first roll occurs(the roll for attack or defender)
● Clocks can only be paused by the T.O. or a medical emergency(having to poop and
similar actions are not considered emergencies)
● Player actions(ie. movement) and player reactions(ie. saves) must be taken on the
respective player’s time.
● When no action is being taken the clock will default to the active player.
● If a player is contemplating taking an action in response to the active player’s action, this
time will be swapped to the inactive player while they decide. (ie. thinking about using a
stratagem)
● If a player runs out of time they may take the following actions:
○ Reactive dice rolls (ie. saves, leadership, feel no pains etc.)
○ Scoring primaries and secondaries they have achieved or currently hold
● The game ends when both players either run out of time or have completed 5 turns.
● The clock is not a competitive aspect of this game. It is a measure to ensure time is
fairly used. Weaponizing this aspect of the game will result in a game score of zero.

Any time remaining on a chess clock when the TO calls “Hard Dice Down,” is lost.

MODEL POLICY
Models that do not meet the model policy will be removed from the table. If you are uncertain if
a model will qualify under the policy, send a picture to YOUREMAIL@[Link].
● Armies must be fully built.
● Painting standards are as follows:
○ Armies must be “3 Colour and Based” standard. However, in order to receive
the points for “Battle Ready” armies must be Battle Ready as per pg 3 of the
War Zone Nephilim Grand Tournament mission pack.
● Models must be WYSIWYG to a reasonable standard.
● Proxies are not allowed.
● Conversions and “Counts-As” (3rd party bits and models) are allowed, provided they are
cleared by the organizers prior to the final list submission date.
● Models that are not painted to the above standards and models that have not been
cleared by the organizers will be removed from the table as casualties.

WYSIWYG (to a reasonable standard)

To have a model count as WYSIWYG, the model’s main and secondary weapons must be
modelled as the appropriate weapons chosen from the dataslate. If the dataslate comes with an
option that all models must use, there is no need to model it.
● 3rd party bits are acceptable, so long as every instance of that bit is consistent across
the army and counts-as the same weapon.
● If a model in a unit has an option or statline that is separate from the other models, it
must be clearly identifiable to your opponent (Champion/Sargeant, special grenade
options, etc).
● Models can be clearly identified through differences in modeling (heads, etc), base
markings, or other means (elastics, etc).

ARMY CONSTRUCTION
● Armies are 2000 points maximum, battle-forged Match play rules.
● All 9th edition codexes and legal supplements (including “The Greater Good” for the
astra militarum) published before November 27th, 2022 will be allowed for army
construction, including Forgeworld sources. Books not released individually will not be
valid. Please see

● Wooden Spoon: awarded to the player with the lowest score.
GENERALSHIP

followed by sportsmanship scores.

BEST OVERALL
The player who has the highest combination of battle score, paint score, and sportsmanship will
be awarded the Best Overall award.

Should two or more players be tied for overall score, the tie will be broken by giving priority to
battle points, hobby score, and sportsmanship in that order.

SPORTSMANSHIP
After the Best General award is decided, the player with the most sportsmanship votes after 3
rounds will be awarded the Best Sportsman award.

At the end of the day, each player will submit an opponent’s name for a sportsmanship vote.
Players must nominate another player that they have been matched against, who offered the
most enjoyable game of that day. These votes will be tallied to determine the Best Sportsman
award.

scores first, and battle points second.

PAINTER
After the Best Sportsman award is decided, the player with the highest hobby score will be
awarded the Best Painter award.

Should two or more players be tied with hobby scores, the tie will be broken using
sportsmanship votes first, and battle points second. Note: Commission painted armies are
ineligible to win this award. The award is the best painter, not best painted, and as such
commissioned units and/or armies will not be graded.

WOODEN SPOON
After the Best Sportsman award is decided, the player with the Lowest score and the highest
sportsmanship score will be awarded the wooden spoon. This metric can be overruled at the
TO’s decision.

ADDITIONAL AWARDS
There will be raffle tickets given to the winners and unwinners, 1 and 2 respectively. In the event
of a tie, 2 will be given. Prizes won by raffle do not count toward the exclusionary nature of other
awards.

If there are more than 42 people, additional awards will be issued for Best Imperial Player, Best
Chaos Player, and Best Xenos Player.

TIE BREAKERS
If the above tie breakers continue to result in a tie, the winner will be randomly determined
between the remaining ties.
