What the work entails
This is a special position, outside of the general structure of the firm, where the person will be part of the
Managing Director’s office special projects across advocacy, research, and business.
You can expect the work to be extremely fast-paced and slightly ambiguous. The position is dynamic, and an
ideal candidate would be someone who can switch contexts almost immediately, juggle multiple objectives
at the same time, and execute with precision.
The work at Chase India is generally a mix of research, stakeholder management, programme & project
management, and communications & advocacy. In this role, however, you will not only be assisting on the
client side of things as the need arises but also be ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization. In
general, some of the things you can expect include:
• Research for thought leadership: You would be expected to assist in research that we will be used for
articles and talks given by the Managing Director at various forums.
• Calendar Management: A key part of this role will be to help the Managing Director manage his time, and
to coordinate his various commitments and obligations.
• Outreach for opportunities: You will be expected to help create opportunities to build the profile of the
organization and the Managing Director.
• Communications and Advocacy: One of the key aspects of our work is to design and execute complete
advocacy strategies that may encompass various programmes, communications, partnerships and other
methods to achieve our ends.
What your responsibilities will be
We expect the responsibilities in this role to be fluid, and candidates to be well-equipped to deal with the
ambiguity. Some of the tasks that we can envision, that would fall on your plate include:
Briefing and Preparation: In this role, you’ll be expected to ensure that the Managing Director is adequately
briefed and prepared for all his meetings. You’ll be expected to track the agenda of, and deliverables from his
conversations, and work with him to make sure that action is taken against each commitment.
• You will be expected to create/review meeting notes and other standard documents such as briefing
documents for meetings.
• You will also be expected to actively prepare and edit communications, presentations, and other
documents as required.
Helping the MD prioritize his time: A key aspect of this role will be to create bandwidth for the Managing
Director to focus on matters of strategic importance. This will require helping the Managing Director prioritize
work while thinking through the short-term and long-term implications of each decision. You will be expected
to assist the Founder in organizing and managing daily schedules, appointments, and meetings.
Stakeholder Coordination: A key aspect of our work is building relationships and working with multiple
stakeholders. You will be occasions on which you may be expected to coordinate with stakeholders and clients
such as during events or other programs / projects etc.
Internal Coordination and Success: You will be the point of contact for coordination, updates, and execution
of work to be done within the organization among the different teams. You will be expected to build
relationships within the team to be able to get work done not only with the Chase India team but also with the
AvianWE team.
• Supporting the Administrative team with information required to raise invoices.
• Coordinating with the internal teams (finance, HR etc) on any other miscellaneous needs that may arise
for clients.
New Business Development: You will actively work with the Managing Director to assess and find new
avenues for creating business: geographically, sectorally, and functionally.
• Proposals: You will work closely with the Managing Director, and the internal teams to build pitch-decks,
and financial projections and prepare proposals.
• Case studies: Working with new and older members of the team to compile and update credentials and
case studies on a timely basis, and updating credentials for the organization.

• Flexible and Adaptible: In line with our values, we’re looking for someone who is nimble enough to adapt
to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, specifically, your ability to
adapt to shifting circumstances will be highly correlated to your ability to manage the work.
• Ownership: You’re someone who takes ownership and accountability for the work assigned to them. You
can expect to be given a short brief, and to run with it, and ensure things happen.
• Interpersonal Skills: You’re someone who is a natural at building relationships with people you meet, and
can become a trusted partner for the long-run. A large part of your work include getting work prioritized by
different teams despite the fact that no one has a directing reporting line to you. This is more likely to
happen if you are a natural networker with astute people management skills.
• Fast learner: The Managing Director must have active and in-depth knowledge of each company's sector.
Given that you’ll be shadowing him, you’ll be expected to learn about a range of issues, and be able to pick
up new issues at breakneck speeds.
Skills
• Verbal and written communication skills: As the work entails documenting and creating communication
material, you’d be expected to be someone who has a natural flair for the same.
• Research, analytical and organizational skills: You’ll be expected to create briefs on-the-go, and organize
incoming information so that you’re able to source it at a moment’s notice.
• Documentation: You would be expected to be proficient in documentation, modelling and presentation
with working proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge: You’d be expected to have a working knowledge of the policy landscape, including
stakeholders and issues.
• Excellent presentation skills: You’ll be expected to have the presentation skills generally associated with
a management consultant.
Professional Qualifications: 0-1 years of work experience is a prerequisite. Additional experience in one or
more of the following would be preferred:
• Understanding of the public policy landscape.
• Prior work / internship experience in public policy or management consulting would be highly preferred.
Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Law, Communication, Political
Science or any other related field.
• A master’s degree is a plus, but not a requisite.
