Dear Dr. Cuento,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a personal matter that
requires my immediate attention. My grandfather has passed away, and I will need to
travel to Argao, Cebu on September 26, 2024, to be with my family and participate in
the necessary funeral arrangements and mourning period.

Given the circumstances, I regret to inform you that I will be unable to attend our class
in Building and Enhancing New Literacies across the Curriculum scheduled from
Saturday, September 28. This is an incredibly challenging time for my family, and my
presence is essential, as I am the eldest granddaughter.

I deeply value my education and am committed to making up for any missed


assessments. I would greatly appreciate your understanding and support.
