STUDENT REFLECTIONS
Camp was amazing. I loved all the views and nature that was
there. My favourite activity would definitely be surfing. The
waves were just perfect and everyone tried their best and did
so well. Surfing is one of the best things I would love to do
again. My second favourite activity would be the Mt Oberon
hike even though I complained the whole way through, I
managed to push myself and get up there and loved to watch
the view and get some cute profile pics for social media. I
would for sure go back some time with my family.

The Year 12 VCAL students organised Pink Stumps Day at school on Thursday 24th March. Students were encouraged
to come in their loudest pink clothes for a gold coin donation. There was a bake sale, BBQ, hotdogs, live music, staff vs

Drouin's VCAL Classes have been busy fundraising for the Leukaemia Foundation and CanTeen.
On 4th April they took part in World's Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation – we’re on a mission to shave the
world from blood cancer! Students and Mr Powell shaved or coloured their hair, raising over $3000 to support families
facing blood cancer and fund vital research.
Students organised a BBQ, bake sale, popcorn, fairy floss and lollies with profits to go to CanTeen to support young people
fighting cancer. They also participated in the March for March, walking 5km per day to raise awareness for CanTeen.

Sports News...
On 17th March, twelve of our swimmers went to compete
in the Gippsland Regional Championships at Sale. On
the back of some valiant efforts from our students, Drouin
ended up placing or winning a staggering total of 14 events
throughout the day. Well, done to everyone who participated
and a special congratulations to Riley Griffin, Patrick Griffin,
Sam Wells and Cailean Thomas who will be advancing
and representing the school in the State Secondary School
Championships on 28th April.
On 25th March, Drouin had 4 teams competing in the Junior
Interschool Summer Sports, specifically in the Volleyball and
Tennis. All our students gave it their best efforts but sadly
couldn’t advance to the next rounds after a couple of second
places and other results in both sports. Still, they displayed
great sportsmanship and for that we give our athletes a pat on
the back.
In Term 2 we have some exciting new sports coming into
rotation including football, netball and cross country running.
Make sure you keep your eyes open and ears ready for more
announcements in the near future!
