1 a List different types of lines used in engineering drawing and write their
applications. [7M]
b construct an ellipse when the distance of the focus from the directrix is 60 mm
and eccentricity is 0.6. Draw a tangent and normal to the ellipse at a distance [7M]
of 30mm from the axis.
(Or)
2 a Inscribe a hexagon in a circle of diameter 60mm.
[7M]
b A thin circular disc of 50 mm diameter is allowed to roll without slipping
from upper edge of sloping plank which is inclined at 15° with the horizontal [7M]
plane. Draw the curve traced by the point on the circumference of the disc.
UNIT 2
3 Line AB is 80 mm long and it is 300 Inclined to HP & parallel to VP. End A
is 20mm above HP and 15mm in front of VP. Draw projections. Consider that [14M]
line is in 1st quadrant.
(Or)
4 A square ABCO of 50 mm side has its corner A in the H.P., its diagonal AC
inclined at 30° to the H.P. and the diagonal BO inclined at 45° to the V.P. and [14M]
parallel to the H.P. Draw its projections.
UNIT 3
5 A hexagonal pyramid, base 25 mm side and axis 50 mm long, has an edge of
its base on the ground. Its axis is inclined at 30° to the ground and parallel to [14M]
the V.P. Draw its projections.
(Or)
6 A pentagonal prism of side of base 25mm and axis 40mm long is resting on
HP on a corner of its base. Draw the projections of the prism, when the base [14M]
is inclined at 60° to HP., and the axis appears to be inclined at 30° to VP.
UNIT 4
7 a A cone of diameter of base 45 mm and height 60 mm is cut by horizontal
cutting plane at 20 mm from the apex. Draw the development of the truncated
[14M]
cone.

8 a Draw the development of the surface of a pentagonal pyramid of side of base
[14M]
30 mm and axis 60 mm.
UNIT 5
9 a Draw the front, top and side
views for the isometric view
of a solid given below and
give appropriate dimensions.
[14M]
(Or)
10 a Create a isometric view of a
solid by using the following
othrographic views.
