At the end of this course, the student should be able to understand the basic
concepts of Engineering Drawing. The student should be able to visualize and
Course Objectives draw the two- and three-dimensional objects. The student should also be able to
understand the features associated with operations of the computer-aided design
(CAD) software.
At the end of this course, the students will be able to:
a) Understand the basic concepts of Engineering Graphics, drawing standards,
conventions and symbols that are in common usage.
Course Outcomes b) Apply the concepts of engineering drawing to create orthographic
projections of points, lines, planes, solids with conventional and CAD
software.
c) Visualize the actual objects and convert them in to readable drawings with
conventional and CAD software.
d) Create new designs/engineering models with conventional and CAD
software.
1. Introduction to Engineering Graphics, Concept of points and lines, System
of Projections, Orthographic projections, Dimensioning.
2. Introduction to different types of CAD Softwares e.g.

Mode of Teaching will be offline classroom and regular Lectures will be taken
by faculty as per time table and regular doubt clearing sessions will be held.
Teaching/ Learning Regular Assignments/Tutorials/Project will be used to illustrate the application
Methodology of fundamental knowledge to practical situations (outcomes a to d).
ATTENDANCE
Attendance requirement is as per institute norms and it is important for
maximizing the learning benefits of this course and therefore regular attendance
is expected. Learning is motivated through active discussion, demonstration and
practice of the topics being studied. You are responsible for all completed work,
schedule adjustments and assigned work addressed during class. Please inform
your instructor if you are unable to attend any scheduled class session. It is your
responsibility to make arrangements for any planned or unplanned absences (i.e.
Assessment Method interviews, illnesses, personal emergencies, etc.).
in Alignment with EXAMS
Intended Course Exams will be graded on the basis of appropriateness of method of approach,
Outcomes correctness of details of solution, and accuracy of results. One mid- term exam
will be given during the semester and a final exam will be given during exam
week. All exams will be closed-book, closed-notes. The mid-term and final
exam will be given according to the Institute schedule.
GRADING
Explanation of the appropriateness of the assessment methods in assessing the
intended course outcomes:
Overall Assessment:
0.4 * End of Subject Examination + 0.6 * Continuous Assessment

Examination is adopted to assess students on the overall understanding and the
ability of applying the concepts and knowledge. It is supplemented by the tests,
assignments, projects and laboratory works which provide timely feedbacks to
both lecturers and students on various topics of the syllabus.
Your final grade will be computed based on the deliverables in the following
tables.
Specific assessment method/tasks % Weightage
1. Assignment 25%
2. Mid-Term 20%
3. Class Test (CAD Software) 15%
4. End-Term 40%
Total 100%
Note:
The preferred method of submission for CAD Assignments is
uploading the PDF file on the Google Classroom.
