َالَس الُم َعَلْيُكم َوَر ْح َمُة َاللِه َوَبَر كاُتُه
ِإَّن اْلَح ْمَد ِلَّلِه َ,نْح َمُدُه َ,وَنْس َتِعيُنُه َوَنْس َتْغِفُر ُه َ ,وَنُعوُذ ِباللِه ِمْن ُش ُر وِر
َأ َأ
ْنُفِسَنا َوِمْن َس ِّيَئاِت ْعَماِلَنا َ,مْن َيْهِدِه اللُه َفاَل ُمِضَّل َلُه َ ,وَمْن
َأ َأ
ُيْضِلْل َفاَل َهاِدَي َلُه َ ,و ْش َهُد ْن اَل ِإَلَه ِإاَّل اللُه َوْحَدُه اَل َش ِريَك َلُه
َأ َأ
َو ْش َهُد َّن ُمَح َّمًدا َعْبُدُه َوَر ُس وُلُه
“Verily, all praise is for Allah. We praise Him, we seek His assistance and we ask
for His forgiveness.
And we seek refuge in Him from the evils of our selves.
Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide. Whoever He misguides, none can
guide.
And I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that
”Mohammad is His slave and messenger.
َيٰٓـَأُّيَها َّلِذيَن َءاَمُنو۟ا
ٱ۟ا ٱَّتُقو۟ا۟ا ٱلَّلَه َح َّق ُتَقاِتِهۦ َواَل َتُموُتَّن ِإاَّل َوَأنُتم ُّمْس ِلُموَن (
)١٠٢
[Surah 3: Al Imran, Verse 102] “O believers! Be mindful of Allah in the way He
”deserves, and do not die except in ˹a state of full˺ submission ˹to Him˺.
Meaning of Dhikr
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم للصحابة« :أال أخبركم بخير أعمالكم وأزكاها عند
مليككم ،وأرفعها في درجاتكم ،وخير لكم من إنفاق الذهب والفضة ،ومن أن تلقوا عدوكم
فتضربوا أعناقهم ،ويضربوا أعناقكم» ،قالوا :بلى يا رسول الله ،قال« :ذكر الله عز وجل»
صحيح الجامع.
Tasbeeh ()تسبيح
● Meaning: Saying "SubhanAllah" (" – )سبحان اللهGlory be to Allah."
● Significance: Reminder of Allah’s perfection and purity.
Tahmeed ()تحميد
● Meaning: Saying "Alhamdulillah" (" – )الحمد للهAll praise is due to Allah."
● Significance: Acknowledging Allah’s blessings and showing gratitude.
Takbeer ()تكبير
● Meaning: Saying "Allahu Akbar" (" – )الله أكبرAllah is the Greatest."
● Significance: Reflects the ultimate greatness and majesty of Allah.
Tahleel ()تهليل
● Meaning: Saying "La ilaha illallah" (" – )ال إله إال اللهThere is no god but
Allah."
● Significance: Declaration of the oneness of Allah.
Istighfar ()استغفار
● Meaning: Saying "Astaghfirullah" (" – )أستغفر اللهI ask Allah for
forgiveness."
● Significance: Seeking forgiveness for sins and purifying the heart.
Salawat ()صالة على النبي
● Meaning: Saying "Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad" (– )اللهم صّل على محمد
"O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad."
● Significance: Sendih: Regular practice of dhikr strengthens one’s
connection with Allahng blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Quranic Dhikr
● Meaning: Reciting verses from the Qur'an (e.g., Surah Al-Fatiha, Ayat al-
Kursi, last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah).
● Significance: The Qur'an is the word of Allah, a high form of dhikr.
Dhikr with Du'a (Supplication)
● Meaning: Asking Allah for help, guidance, or specific needs while
remembering Him.
● Significance: Connecting with Allah, expressing dependence, and seeking
mercy.
:Benefits of Dhikr
Spiritual peace: Dhikr brings peace to the heart and mind, as mentioned in ●
:the Qur'an
Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace." (Surah Ar-Ra’d, "
13:28)
Forgiveness: Dhikr is a means to seek Allah's forgiveness and cleansing of ●
.sins
.Protection: It acts as a shield against negative influences, evil, and harm ●
.Increased closeness to Alla ●

“I say what you have heard and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and you
from every sin. So seek forgiveness from Him, Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, the

“O Allah, guide us with those whom You have guided, grant us well-being among
those You have granted well-being, be an ally to us along with those whom You
are an ally to, and bless what You have bestowed upon us, and save us from the
evil of what You have decreed. For verily You decree and none can decree over
You. He whom You support can never be humiliated. Glory is to You, our Lord,
You are Blessed and Exalted.”

“O Allah, We ask You for all that is good, in this world and in the Hereafter, what
we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we seek refuge with You from all
evil, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know.
O Allah, we ask You for the good that Your servant and Prophet has asked You
for, and we seek refuge with You from the evil from which Your servant and
Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and for that which
brings one closer to it, in word and deed, and we seek refuge in You from Hell
and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed. And we ask You to
make every decree that You decree concerning us good”

(Start of Compulsory Arabic portion) -------
ِع َباَد الّلِه
َوِإيَتاِء ِذي اْلُقْر َبٰى َوَيْنَهٰى َعِن اْلَفْح َش اِء ْأ
ِإَّن الَّلَه َي ُمُر ِباْلَعْدِل َواِإْلْح َس اِن
َتَذَّكُر وَن َواْلُمنَكِر َواْلَبْغِي َيِعُظُكْم َلَعَّلُكْم
“Servants of Allah. Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to
relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He
admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.”

Remember Allah, the Great – He will“ ُاْذُكُر وا الَّلَه اْلَعِظيَم َيْذُكْر ُكْم
.remember you
Thank Him for His favors – He will increase you واْش ُكُر وُه َيِزْدُكْم
therein
And seek forgiveness from Him – He will واْس َتْغِفُر وُه َيْغِفْر لُكْم
forgive you
And be conscious of Him – He will واّتُقوُه َيْجَعْل َلُكْم ِمْن َأْمِرُكْم َمْخ َر ًج ا
.provide you a way out of difficult matters
And, establish the َوَأِقِم الّصاَل ة
