INTRODUCTION
In the dynamic and ever-evolving realm of modern corporate environments, the rapid expansion of commercial office spaces has become a hallmark of
progress and growth. As the workforce continues to flourish, the design and architecture of these office spaces have taken center stage, shaping the way
employees interact with their surroundings and, consequently, their overall well-being. Within this context, this architectural study seeks to address a pressing
concern: the growing toll that corporate environments are taking on the mental health and stress levels of employees.
The primary aim of this research is to explore and implement architectural interventions that can effectively reduce stress levels among corporate employees.
This endeavor encompasses a holistic approach, considering various architectural elements such as materials, colors, textures, spatial layouts, and environmental
factors. By harnessing the power of architectural design, we aim to transform corporate office spaces into more nurturing, inspiring, and harmonious
environments that promote the mental and emotional well-being of employees.
The significance of this research topic cannot be overstated in today's fast-paced and competitive corporate world. Stress-related issues, ranging from
burnout to decreased productivity and employee turnover, have become pervasive challenges faced by organizations worldwide. Stress not only impacts the
physical and mental health of employees but also affects their creativity, job satisfaction, and overall job performance.
Recognizing the profound influence of architecture on human behavior and well-being, this study endeavors to bridge the gap between architectural design
and employee well-being in corporate settings. By focusing on the strategic use of architectural elements and design principles, this research aims to
demonstrate how architects and designers can play a pivotal role in improving the quality of work environments and alleviating the stressors faced by
corporate employees.
As we delve into the exploration of materials, colors, textures, and spatial arrangements, we will uncover innovative approaches that have the potential to
transform corporate office spaces into havens of productivity, creativity, and mental well-being. This thesis underscores the intrinsic connection between
architecture and the human experience, emphasizing that a thoughtful and holistic architectural approach can lead to happier, healthier, and more productive
employees, ultimately benefiting both individuals and organizations alike.

CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT
L
Corporate Environment Overview:
I The corporate environment encompasses the overall atmosphere, culture, and
T working conditions in a business organization, influencing employee interactions,
E performance, and contributions to company goals.
R
A Key Elements of Functionality:
T
U Value System: The company's value system includes its goals, norms, and moral
R beliefs, shaping the mindset of its workforce.
Vision, Mission, and Objectives: A compelling vision, mission, and objectives inspire
E
employees, driving their desire for success and aligning their efforts with
organizational goals.
S Corporate Culture: Corporate culture refers to the encouraged beliefs and behaviors
T within a company, influencing interactions among employees and managers.
U Management Style: The management style is the specific approach managers take in
D leadership responsibilities, fostering collaboration and maintaining a positive work
environment.

The goal is to engage patients in the process of healing and recovery. As a result, spaces should be
designed to reduce patient and family stress. Healing through architecture aims to:
Eliminate environment stresses, such as noise, lack of privacy, poor air quality and glare.
Connect patients to nature.
Enhance the patient's feeling by offering options and choices e.g- privacy versus socialization, type
of music etc.
Encourage opportunities for social support
Inspire feelings of peace, hope, reflection and spiritual connection.
Natural Elements:
Apple Park is known for its extensive use of natural elements, including a 175-acre
park with more than 9,000 native and drought-resistant trees. The campus itself is
designed with open spaces, walking trails, and outdoor work areas to encourage
employees to connect with nature.
Integrating natural materials, colors, and patterns in corporate spaces can create a
more visually appealing and calming [Link] and Views: Providing ample
access to natural light and views of the outdoors supports circadian rhythms, helping
regulate sleep-wake cycles and overall well-being.
Biophilic Design: The main building, often referred to as the "Spaceship," features curved
glass walls that provide ample natural light and offer views of the surrounding landscape.
The incorporation of trees, both inside and outside the building, enhances the biophilic
design.
12
Well-being and Productivity:
Stress Reduction: Healing architecture in corporate spaces focuses on reducing stress through the use of natural light,
comfortable furniture, and biophilic elements, contributing to improved employee well-being and productivity.
Connection to Nature: Incorporating elements such as indoor plants, green walls, or views of nature can enhance
employees' connection to the natural environment, positively impacting their mood and focus.

ASPECTS OF DESIGN
SPACE PLANNING
Space planning is the laying out and determination of the intended uses of a space (or several spaces) in
any architectural project. It should be carefully based upon the client’s functional requirements. On top of
that, it’s also a good opportunity to incorporate the program as an important element into the architectural
concept of the project.
factors such as glare and thermal discomfort may actually affect mood and task performance negatively.
While there isn’t convincing evidence linking the presence ofwindows to improved mood and
performance outcomes, it is clear that natural light is the preferred source of light for most people. It is
important to provide access to daylight along with opportunity to control glare and lighting levels 15
EMOTIONAL RESPONSES TO DIFF COLOR
Colour has the power to influence brain activity, heart rate, muscular tension and
other functions related to the nervous system. It also produces emotional
and aesthetic responses that can be either therapeutic or harmful. It is
essential to understand that different emotions are triggered by different
colours, and in order to enhance the level of people’s well- being, we need to
be able tO distinguish the spectrum of colours and their effects on human health.

TEXTURES AND HEALING
Texture defines as the surface character of all materials determined by their actual physical structure.
an external, tactile texture which is directly affected by the internal composition and a visual texture or
design which may be manually applied to the surface
Texture and pattern are intricately intertwined; a brick wall has a distinct pattern which can also be felt
when touched.
People often react to textures in psychological ways. This psychological reaction allows us to mentally
feel without ever actually touching a given item. This establishes the difference between tactile and visual
textures.
