Respected Sir/Madam,
We, the residents and communities of Bachupally, Hyderabad, are writing to
express our sincere concern and distress regarding the severe and persistent air
pollution bothering our residential area. Over the years, Bachupally has
transformed into a vibrant residential hub, but the alarming decline in air quality
has severely compromised this development due to the unchecked release of
harmful gases from nearby industrial units, particularly those involved in the bulk
drug industry.

Despite numerous complaints and regular submissions to the Telangana State


Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), we have witnessed no evident improvements.
The recurring inspections have failed to yield effective solutions, exposing us to
hazardous air pollutants. The situation has escalated to an intolerable level, with
the intensity of chemical odours and associated health issues, including
respiratory problems, burning eyes, and nausea, becoming unbearable. The
alarming increase in reported health issues underscores the severity of the
problem.

Considering the urgency and severity of this issue, we organised a Dharna at


Bachupally junction on March 9th, 2025. This representation is being submitted
to you following the Dharna, as we seek to emphasise the need for immediate
attention and action from the TSPCB. We, therefore, urgently request the
following:
1. Immediate and Stringent Action Against Polluting Industries: We
demand that the TSPCB take decisive and immediate action against
industries releasing harmful gases, including rigorous inspections and
enforcing emission standards.
2. Implementation of a Daily Monitoring Mechanism: We request a
robust daily air quality monitoring system providing real-time data to
ensure accountability and timely interventions.
3. Regular Public Updates and Communication: We urge the TSPCB to
maintain a dedicated cell to record the instances and receive complaints
from the residents, providing regular updates on actions taken.
4. Long-Term Solutions for Sustainable Air Quality: We appeal to the
TSPCB to develop comprehensive strategies for sustainable air quality.

We are deeply concerned about the health and safety of our families. We request
you understand the gravity of our situation and take immediate, effective, and
transparent action.
