Personal Statement

I am an ambitious African American student currently employed at FedEx, with

ambitions to ace in the field of business management through Academic endeavors. Therefore,

my journey has demonstrated resilience, determination, and a persistent chase of knowledge and

opportunities in business management. Growing up in a family that prioritized hard work for me.

I learned early on the value of willpower and pliability. As an African American directing

through life's challenges, I've always struggled to shine regardless of the obstacles that came my

way. I belong to a black family. My journey in finance, formed by my family background,

academic activities, and personal interests, has prepared me for the pursuit of higher education

and a career in business management. My parents, despite facing their problems, entrenched a

strong work ethical behavior. Also, they created a belief that the power of academics is a

pathway to success for me.

Observation of my parents' sacrifices and resolution to provide a better academic

environment for our family has developed my ambition to excel and contribute meaningfully to

the world around me. Their secure support system and belief in my potential have helped me a

lot as continuous sources of motivation, pushing me onward even in phases of hardships. My

attraction to current affairs, political dynamics, and the global economy has determined my

ambition to study economics at the university level. I am also excited to explore questions, such

as the operational systems of various stock markets like the FTSE 100 and their impact on daily

life and business processes.

I am also interested in investigating the problems causing the downfall of large

organizations, such as Enron, and curious to understand the ups and downs in economic

mechanisms. The strength of my career revolves around international trade. I believe that it can
be done with a background in economics. These career pathways hold huge appeals to me. They

offer the opportunity to mix elements of finance, law, and politics, promoting connections with

diverse individuals in the whole world and presenting paths for global travel and work

experiences.

My present academic exposures are enabling a solid basis for my future university

studies. With a desire for science, I studied AS-level biology during my time in school.

Currently, at the A2 level, I am occupied in a diverse array of subjects including economics,

government and politics, and chemistry. I find great pleasure in discovering the details of our

economy, particularly the various market structures, and I am riveted by the interplay between

government policies and economic restraints. My studies in political policies have provided

valuable insights into power dynamics and governmental institutions, which accompany my

understanding of economics. Additionally, my fascination with chemistry not only stems from its

intrinsic conspiracy but also helps to improve my arithmetical skills, ensuring I am lavish for the

challenges of the future.

During my time working at a travel agency, I had the opportunity to work in their

accounts department, where I managed various tasks, such as handling invoices, processing

cancellations, and supporting with weekly and monthly banking measures. This practice allowed

me to develop essential communication skills, as I cooperated with clients daily, and in the

organization, as I efficiently managed the scheduling of terminations and bookings. Additionally,

I am actively involved in a Saturday school where I dedicate my time to teaching Indian classical

music to children. As a teacher, I am accountable for creating a favorable learning environment

and ensuring that each student receives quality instruction. This role brings me enormous

satisfaction as I have the honor of imparting my knowledge and passion for music to the next
generation. Beyond academics and work, my desire for music and sports has played a significant

role in shaping my character.

For the past ten years, I have also had the skill of playing Tabla which is an instrument in

the classical music of India. I performed several times in various concerts, even sometimes in

several famous places like Wembley Arena. Playing is helpful for me as an original outlet but it

is also helpful in collaboration and adaptability, which are two necessary skills for me in

academics and professional settings. Similarly, my involvement in sports, especially cricket, has

trained me about the worth of teamwork and discipline. I am also excited about more treasure of

my educational career which brings into line with my interests and ambitions. However, some

financial difficulties have made it a challenge to achieve my educational goals. The opportunity

to receive this scholarship would not only help me lessen the financial burden but also provide

me with the support and encouragement that I need to ace my studies and business management

career. It would also allow me to focus on my academic passionately and extracurricular

activities, without worrying about financial deprivation.

This scholarship is of huge importance to me, both financially and personally. From a

financial point of view, it would help me to decrease my financial burden associated with

pursuing higher education, including tuition fees, textbooks, and other educational expenses. By

decreasing these financial difficulties, the scholarship would provide enough money and

opportunity to fully exert myself in my academic and professional career without the distraction

of financial worries. From a personal point of view, receiving this scholarship would serve as an

authentication of my hard work, dedication, and potential. The support provided by the

scholarship would not only increase my confidence but also repeat my belief in my abilities and
aspirations. Confidence of others especially my family in my potential and strength enhance my

motivation and also pave the way toward my success.

During my educational journey, I have been in a lot of problems that have challenged my

talent and hard work. Some of these are financial and some are social. One most significant

challenges in my life was to balance between work and education while continuing my

educational goals. Working at FedEx has provided respected professional experience but it has

also been necessary for me to manage my time effectively to meet the requirements of both work

and education. Financial burdens have also interruptions, making it challenging to afford tuition,

textbooks, and other educational expenses. Regardless of these challenges, I remained steadfast

in my dream of attaining higher education and advancing my career in business management.

Due to my determination and ingenuity, I have been able to overcome these problems and it

helps in progressing towards my goals.

In addition to my educational and professional achievements, I am actively involved in

community service and volunteer duties. In my opinion, it is important to use my skills and

resources to make a positive impact on the world around me, and I am happy to dedicate my

education and experience to making meaningful changes in society. Furthermore, I am deeply

passionate about variety, fairness, and inclusion within the workplace and struggle to promote

these values in all aspects of my life. As an African American individual working in a

predominantly white-collar manufacturing, I am also fond of encouraging greater illustrations. I

enjoy playing football and cricket. Studying finance will help me get better at solving problems

and understanding things, which will be useful in my career and while I'm a student.
