AS 1 Term 2 Examination/Summative Assessment Series 2025

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Term 2 of 2025, a pivotal time in our academic calendar that provides an
opportunity to pause and reflect on how our students are progressing in their learning
journey. This reflection takes place through our mid-year examinations and assessments
series, scheduled to begin on the 2nd of June and conclude on the 20th of June 2025.

These assessments are a vital part of the academic year. They help us gauge how well
students have understood the concepts taught so far, while also giving them experience in
preparing for and writing formal assessments. Just as important as the assessments
themselves is the feedback process that follows. The week after the assessment series will
be dedicated to meaningful, structured feedback, allowing students to celebrate their
strengths and identify areas for improvement.

We kindly ask for your full support in ensuring your child attends school during this feedback
week. Feedback plays a critical role in the learning cycle, and its value is equal to that of the
assessment itself.

At Generation Schools, we prioritise effective teaching and learning. Our assessment

calendar and approach within the 15–18 Phase are thoughtfully designed to guide student
growth across key academic areas. Assessments are spaced throughout the year to provide
a comprehensive picture of each student’s progress, identify areas that need reinforcement,
and ensure readiness for the next stages of learning.

Key Information:

• AS/A Levels: Students will write subject-specific examinations aligned with

Cambridge International standards. These assessments provide critical exposure to
exam structures and are important preparation for their final qualifications.

Please familiarise yourselves with the examination rules and procedures, which follow the
official guidelines set by Cambridge Assessment International Education.

The Term 2 summative assessment/examination series is scheduled between the 2nd and
20th of June 2025, as indicated in the attached schedules.

We kindly remind you to take note of the following procedures and regulations:

Important Reminders:

• Students must wear full school uniform for all examination and assessment sessions.
• Subject-specific breakdowns and content overviews will be posted on your child’s
Microsoft Teams pages.
• An Examination Booklet containing subject content summaries and study tips will
be shared via the relevant year group on Microsoft Teams.
• A healthy breakfast and regular sleep are strongly encouraged to support students’
performance and well-being.
• IGCSE and AS students may leave after their first session if they do not have a
second session scheduled and if we receive written permission from a parent or
guardian.
• A study room will be provided for students who do not write in the first or second
session.
