Table 1 The runic concept of the man as human being MATIR, father FAÐIR and mother MÓÐIR
Abstract
A runic inscription is an often mystic inscription made in one of the various runic alphabets. The
standard runes may be identified in the runic Futhark alphabets.
Elder Futhark inscriptions were rare, but in Latin scriptures the similar words may be interpreted as
variants of the runic fundamentals. Examples1 in Younger Futhark are: father - FAÐIR ᚠᛅᚦᛁᛦ faþiʀ2
and mother – MÓÐIR ᛘᚬᚦᛁᛦ móþiʀ, which are composed from 5 Places of articulation: labials,
guttural, linguals, palatal, dental. A neutral word for “man & woman” is MATIR ᛘᛅᛏᛁᛦ matiʀ, which
shares the first letter “M” with “Mother” and the second letter “A” with “Father”.
Similar patterns are religious concepts as Odin's epithets in Gothic language: GAUTS, GAUDR or in
the Icelandic word GAUTR (a “wise man” or the “inventor” of the letters and runes).
These words may be studied and analyzed in the pentagrammatons in a dictionary for runic words
titled “Das Runen-Wörterbuch” by Udo W Dieterich (dated: 1844).

The Pentagrammatons
A Pentagrammaton is a five-letter word where each letter belongs to a unique category from the five
defined phonetic categories.
Phonetic Categories
• Lingual: d, t, l, n
• Palatal: g, i, j, c, k, y, q, x
• Guttural: a, e, h, o
• Labial: b, f, v, m, p, u, w
• Dental: z, s, r
The Input field for text where pentagrammatons will be searched is the completed “Das Runen-
Wörterbuch” by Udo W Dieterich (dated: 1844). The result also listed modern English and German
words, which manually had to be skipped.
Also some runic symbols such as ᚦ (a double “th”) had to be replaced to an equivalent Latin
singular element “D”. Also the Stupmadr ᛦ (an “A” in ᛦᚠᛏᛁᚱ, “Aftir”, or/and also the final “R” in
ᛦᚠᛏᛁᛦ) may manually have to be replaced by Latin elements.
Each entry is labeled to an runic word. The following entry is defined as the word for “Father”,
which is a pentagrammaton FAÐIR in the Icelandic language. In English is the word “Father”, who
is the provider of food for the children:
The parents (Fadir and Modir)

Religious pentagrammatons
The legendary inventor of runes is represented by the Germanic god (W)Odin, who had been
equipped with an Epithet in Gothic: GAUTS, GAUDR or in Icelandic GAUTR (a “wise man” or
“inventor”). This name “KAUTR”) may have been referred to Buddha's name “Gautama”
(“wisest”)5.
The Geatish ethnonym *gautaz is related to the ethnonym of the Goths and of the Gutes
((GUTES) inhabitants of the island of Gotland), deriving from Proto-Germanic *gutô
(cf. Gothic Gut-þiuda, Old Norse GOTAR or GUTAR).
Early inhabitants of present-day Götaland called themselves Geats (in Swedish GÖTAR), derived
from *Gautaz (plural *Gautôz), "to pour".[2]
Obviously the words for the parents and the inventor have been founded on 5-letter words, which
may be named pentagrammatons.

Table 6 The variants of the words for the soul and the Creator
The Goths had a cult of a god of war, identified by the Romans with Mars, presumably
cognate to the Proto-Germanic Tīwaz, perhaps called *Teiws in Gothic, on the basis on
the corresponding letter names. 6

The list of 41 names
In the list of runic scriptures a bulk of names is identified as memorized messages on gravestones.
The names may also interpreted as the remember characters of the buried citizens of the Germanic
population. The list is extracted from the appendix.

The concept of the Germanic religions are based on thr triads (human being MATIR, father FAÐIR
and mother MÓÐIR).
Another triad was composed by three pentagrammatons, which as a trinity contains the same 5
letters T, E (or A), I, W, S in 3 similar compositions: TEIWS, WITAS, TIWAZ.
