Introduction
■ Introduction
Features
YDT allows faster and more reliable diagnoses than traditional troubleshooting methods.
Using this software, ECU and sensor data, as well as fault diagnosis, vehicle maintenance, and any necessary information can be recorded and displayed on your
computer screen by connecting the adapter interface by wireless or to the USB port of your computer with a USB cable and to the vehicle’s ECU using the vehicle
communication cable.
Data obtained by the software’s various functions can be saved and accumulated as vehicle history.
■ Features of Version 3
This new version features a re-designed interface ensuring excellent operability thanks to large and intuitive menu buttons.
Moreover, the menu hierarchy has been simplified, and the transition from the current menu to another menu is displayed. As such, access to each menu and
menu navigation have become easier.
“Select” and “Execute Command”, previously performed with the mouse, can now be executed using the arrow and function keys on the connected computer's
keyboard. Version 3 requires an Internet connection for downloading files, automatic data update, and receiving information. Connect to the Internet if avail-
able.

Logging
■ Logging
The current status of monitor items, including sensor output values during the actual run of the vehicle, can be recorded in the adapter interface.
When placing the adapter interface onto the vehicle, be careful not to let the communication cables get caught by moving parts such as the steering
wheel. A cable getting caught may cause the vehicle to fall over.
When using the Logging mode, a malfunction or data corruption may occur if the following cautions are not observed.
• The adapter interface case is not waterproof. When operating the vehicle in the rain, protect the adapter interface from raindrops.
• The adapter interface case is not dust-proof. When operating the vehicle in a sandy or dusty environment, protect the adapter interface from sand
and dust.
• Do not subject the adapter interface to a strong shock by jumping during the run, or by dropping the adapter interface from the vehicle.
• Do not remove the coupler or terminals while the adapter interface is communicating.
• Do not load the adapter interface on a spot subject to excessive vibration, such as on top of the steering wheel.
• Do not forcibly bend the communication cables, or let them twine around a vehicle part.
• Do not start the vehicle using an external power supply in the Logging Mode.
• If a communication radio is installed on the vehicle, place the adapter interface away from the radio.
• The Bluetooth communication compatible A/I has no memory device, so you need to purchase a commercially available SD card and install it.
The logging data is not saved unless a microSD card is installed. If you are using an “SD” standard card, format to “FAT16”; if you are using an
“SDHC” standard card, format to “FAT32”.

TIP:
Using the optional marker switch, you can insert marker points on the logging data by pressing the switch. Refer to “Insert a marker in the data during logging”
(P131).
TIP:
• When the main switch is turned OFF, a logging data file is created. The data file created by the logging mode is saved in the adapter interface memory.

• Is the computer’s battery sufficiently charged, or is the computer connected to a power source?
• Is there any rust on the connectors to which you are connecting?
• If any other programs are running, close all those programs.
• To use Bluetooth communications, you need to register the device being connected (pairing). However, with Bluetooth compatible A/I, a pairing method that
uses wired connection is used to clearly identify the device being connected. Because of this, you need to use the provided USB cable to create a wired
connection between the computer and the A/I, as shown in the following diagram.
• After pairing is complete, you can use wireless connection through Bluetooth to connect to the vehicle.
• The A/I and computer that have been paired do not need this procedure to be used in the future.
