INTRODUCTION
The Career Development Plan is comprehensive tool for defining career objectives and
constructing a five-year professional development plan. The Tri Metrix assessment's specific
strengths and areas for improvement, which are incorporated into the career development plan,
gives the assignment a more personalized touch and challenges me to consider the best time to
set goals and take the necessary actions to reach them.
Answer 1:
I am in Vancouver, BC pursuing my MBA from a private university, University Canada
West. I have completed my Baccalaureates in Computer Application from Chandigarh, India
from Punjab University. As soon as I completed my baccalaureates in India in 2022, I attempted
my IELTS exam which was cleared in the first go as soon as my result was out for both my
IELTS and Bachelor I started preparing for my file for Canada and applied for the student visa.
As soon as I graduate with my MBA, I will be Moving to Toronto given that living expenses are
much more affordable with a lot more job opportunities in Ontario which I was unaware of
before coming to Canada. Toronto is considered the wealthiest city in the world making it a hub
for great opportunities. Toronto has the biggest market in Canada for professional workers and
offers top-notch jobs in addition to sweet salaries. After my MBA I plan on becoming a
Marketing manager. The timeline given below depicts my career development plan.

Answer 2:
I want to work as a senior manager which would take around 6-10 years of experience to
reach that target which would be a long time given that I want to start my own business and I
want to gain good experience in my field as well for which I have to work twice as hard to
achieve my goals before time working harder than others to achieve that goal faster this might
include all-rounder, submission of work before time, overtime, perfection in work. Being in the
marketing field provides a lot of career opportunities for my specialization among which I would
be choosing marketing manager as my goal to achieve within 5 years marketing manager's job is
to lead the marketing teams, develop marketing strategies for the organization, manage budget,
and ensure that the campaigns are conducted smoothly and successfully. There would be
different promotional opportunities like project leadership where I can show my abilities and

take a lead on a project which leads to recognition and promotion, another would be cross-
training in which I can learn new skills and can take on additional responsibilities which can
demonstrate my versatility, specialization in one field. To achieve all this several certificates
would be required to have an edge over others in this field like my baccalaureate degree, MBA
degree other professional certificates like project management certificates, AMA professional
certifies marketer, professional experience, and proven track record, these things combined might
help in achieving my goal at a faster pace.

That means, especially if I am interested in careers, comfort zone should always meet my needs.
My current qualifications and certifications align well with the requirements of the desired
position as a Marketing Specialist. The combination of academic background, practical skills,
and industry-relevant certifications positions me as a suitable candidate for this role.

Skill Enhancement and Certification: The marketing field is diverse and
challenging with a lot of unique and new opportunities to thrive in this field it is
extremely important to upgrade me in different aspects which would help me in
equipping several new sets of skills and overall Growth which I can do via
enrolling in online courses,
Networking and Information Gathering: Networking is an utmost part of thriving
in any profession for which connecting with people, and attending online
webinars and several seminars is important which helps in the growth of personal
and professional contacts.

Internship and Practical Experience: Gaining hands-on experience is crucial for
career progression. Internships help in gain practical knowledge and expose them
to the practical world with theoretical knowledge as well which helps in gaining
overall practical experience and honing their skills.
By pursuing these three action steps, I aim to build a strong base for my future which will
help me in the long run.

• Visa Regulations: Navigating and fulfilling complex work permit requirements and
visa requirements.
• Salary Expectations: Being a foreigner in the country on a work permit or temporary
visa permit salary and expenses would be aligned and salary would be less than
Canadian residents.
• Competition: Marketing is a diverse and very competitive field in which several
people compete locally and internationally.

• Networking Challenges: As an international student in Canada, it would be a difficult
task to make a network and new contacts in the country from the base.
• Employer Perception: Employers might not hire because of different backgrounds
Canadian qualifications and Canadian experience differences.
• Job Market Competition: The competitive job market might lead to intense
competition for positions, making it harder to secure the desired job in the market.
