ORIENTATION I
IV. GROWTH FOR NEW CHRISTIANS.
Teach them the following acrostic to help them
remember:
V. THE BIBLE SPEAKS TO THE
PROCRASTINATOR.
The procrastinator is the person who hopes to be
saved some day before he dies. This does not
necessarily mean that he denies the plan of salvation or
his need to personally accept Jesus Christ as his Lord
and Saviour from sin. For a variety of reasons he wants
to put off his acceptance of Jesus Christ.
The sinner may have many reasons for putting off
salvation. He may want to enjoy the pleasures of sin, or
sow some wild oats; whatever his reason he needs to
realize that salvation is always referred to in the
present tense.
God urges the individual to be saved now; tomorrow
may be too late. It is never an optional matter. As long
as Satan can keep us procrastinating we will not be
saved.
1. The Folly of Procrastination -
2 Cor. 6:2; Isa. 55:6
2. The Failure of Tomorrow -
Prov. 27:1; 29:1; Jas. 4:13,14.
3. The Finality of the Holy Spirit's Ministry -
Gen. 6:3.
4. The Futility of Riches and Prestige -
Mark 8:36; Gal. 6:7,8.
5. The Fatality of Neglect - Heb. 2:3.
6. The Fact of Death - Luke 12:20; Heb. 9:27.
