2. What if, you are really a chief or a cook? How are
you going to do to form a burger?
Have you noticed, this is a paragraph,
Believe it or not, paragraphs are like hamburger. They
need certain things too. If any of those are missing then it
isn’t a paragraph. Just like a bun by itself is not a
hamburger.
Discussion
for deeper understanding of the topic let’s first define what is
Paragraph- a group of related sentences about a specific topic. All sentence should linked to each other and
each sentence should talk about the same topic.
Now class can you enumerate the parts of Hamburger?
Very Good, just like Hamburgers, a paragraph has three parts too.
So, topic is compared to the top bun of the burger.
Main Idea is a subject or a topic that the writer is discussing and author’s opinion about the topic.
Ex. Is the topic sentence because it tells the reader what the paragraph is going to be about and the topic here is
Dogs.
Next, Body is compared to the juicy part of burger
Once you have engaged your reader and presented your main topic in your introduction use your body
paragraph to fully develop your ideas.
Ex. If you notice that the supporting sentence starts with experts say that, this is an example of Fact based on
the studies to support the topic sentence.
Last one, Conclusion is compared to this bottom bun.
The last sentence of paragraph and also summarize the main idea of the paragraph.
[Link] sentence is the most important part of paragraph and as a writer you should know the importance of
the topic.
2. the paragraph must focus to single idea or point that is being discuss.
3. a reader should not be left with questions.
4. this is the flow of your writing in order for your reader to understand your paragraph.
Alright class, your ideas and thoughts matter, in a piece sheet of paper I would like you to write one question
that is related to our topic. You have 2 minutes to write, your time starts now.
Are you done writing?
Now who wants to read your question?
Yes (name of student)
I believe that each of your classmates can answer your question.
Well done! Class
You are all knowledgeable enough regarding the Paragraph and its part.
practicing new skills #2
