everyday to play, watched TV together, and we were birds of a feather flock
together. Our bond was rooted in sharing the little things of our children childhood
daily life and countless cherished moments which created a special childhood that
i never forget. We were really close until Trang's family had to move to another
place. At that time we were only 8 years old so we didn't have the connection
through social networks like we do now, so keeping in touch was challenging.
Well, what do you know, (you know,) just a few days ago, while updating my social
media profile, i stumbled upon Trang's account, i saw her picture and immediately

2. Do you find it easy to make others laugh?

 To be honest, I don’t think I’m naturally funny. I don’t always have

the right sense of humor that clicks with everyone, and sometimes
my jokes fall flat. It can be challenging to find that common ground
(điểm chung) where both people share the same wavelength (tần
số). So no, I wouldn’t say making others laugh comes easily to me, but

 Definitely no. If I'm not mistaken, a couple of decades ago, small

 Well, I suppose that to some extent most roads in my city need a lot
of improvement. Especially if you think about the fact that they’re
often uneven, with potholes and cracks, which make driving
uncomfortable. Plus, during the rainy season, they tend to flood,
making things even worse for everyone. However, those in the city
center are a different story—they’re modern and well-maintained,
perfect for any kind of transportation. So all in all I guess my answer
would have to be yes and no.

2. What is the condition of the roads in your city like?

 Well to be honest, I think I would have to say that it really depends.

If we’re talking about those outside the city center, most of them
aren’t in the best shape. Many have potholes, and after heavy rains,
they become quite difficult to drive on. However, some main roads are
perfectly fine with wide traffic lanes.

3. How do people cross the road in the city where you live?

diversity of the underwater world.

4. Have you watched the TV program about fish?

 I've watched TV programs about fish on channels like Animal Planet.

They provide fascinating insights into the underwater world and the
diverse species that inhabit it. The documentaries often showcase the
beauty and complexity of aquatic life, making it both educational and
captivating.
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS

1.What is your favourite place? Why?

 My favorite place is the beach. I love the sound of the waves

and the fresh sea breeze. It’s such a calming spot where I can
relax and clear my mind. Plus, watching the sunset there is always
magical.
 I don’t have one specific favorite place, but I love anywhere
that’s close to nature. Whether it’s a park, a mountain, or by a lake,
being surrounded by greenery and fresh air always makes me
feel refreshed.

2.Would you take photos when you see a good view?

 Definitely! I love capturing beautiful moments, especially when the

view is stunning. Whether it’s a scenic landscape or a sunset, I think
it’s worth saving those memories to look back on later.
 Not really, I’m not much of a photographer. I prefer to just enjoy the
view in the moment without worrying about taking photos. Sometimes
it’s nice to just soak it all in without distractions."

3. Have you seen an unforgettable and beautiful view or scenery?

 Yes, I once saw the Northern Lights, and it was absolutely

breathtaking. The colors in the sky were surreal, and it’s something I’ll
never forget. It felt like I was witnessing something magical.

 I can’t think of any one view that stands out as unforgettable, but I’ve
seen some beautiful sunsets and landscapes during my travels. Each
place has its own charm, and I love how different scenery can make
you feel.

4. What is the view like around the place where you live?
 The view around where I live is pretty nice. There are lots of green
trees and a river nearby, which makes it a peaceful and relaxing area. I
love going for walks to take in the scenery.

 The view around where I live isn’t anything special. It’s mostly
buildings and traffic, so it’s a bit noisy and crowded. I wish there was
more nature around, but you get used to it.

Sample 1

I want to talk about Lan, who used to be my best friend back in high school,
but we drifted apart over time. I actually got back in touch with her just a
few days ago. We were very close back then, bonded by our love for
basketball and the school team. We spent hours on end practicing, coming
up with strategies, and playing together. It just seemed like we are on the
same wavelength about literally everything. But it wasn’t just about
basketball—we also had each other's backs during exams and personal stuff,
which really made our friendship rock-solid.

After graduation, we ended up going to different universities and

gradually lost touch. As we got caught up in our new lives
and responsibilities, I often thought about Lam and wondered how she was
doing, but somehow, I never got around to reaching out.

However, a couple of days ago, while updating my social media profile,

I stumbled upon Lam’s account. I was thrilled to see that she was doing well
and had found success working at a prominent marketing agency. Feeling
excited, I sent her a message, and we arranged a video call.

Reconnecting with Lam was, in every way, a wonderful experience. It felt

like we’d just picked up right where we left off; our conversation was full of
laughs and fond memories. I was hit with a wave of nostalgia and joy,
realizing how special our old friendship was and how it’s stood the test of
time. It really drove home how important it is to stay connected with those
who have been significant in our lives.

Sample 2

The first person who springs to mind for this topic is an old friend of mine
named T. We’ve known each other for a long time, since we were around 12
years old, which means it’s been about 8 to 10 years. We first met in primary
school, but we weren’t friends back then. However, when we moved on to
lower secondary school, we ended up in the same class. That gave me the
chance to get to know her better, and we eventually became good friends.

Our friendship continued until we started university, which is when we

gradually lost touch. It wasn’t because of any argument or falling out, but
simply because we lived far apart and went to different universities. Our
schedules didn’t match, and since we’re both introverts, neither of
us reached out to the other. For a long time, I thought to myself, “Oh my
gosh, I’ve lost a friend who knew me so well and whom I cared about so
much.”

Recently, though, T visited my area to see one of her relatives. She was the
one who texted me first, asking if I’d like to meet up for coffee. Of course, I
said yes immediately! I don’t have many close friends, so I couldn’t pass up
the chance to reconnect.

When we met, it was such a joyful experience. It felt like no time had
passed, and we spent hours catching up and sharing things we hadn’t been
able to talk about during the years we were apart. I was so happy that we
could rekindle our friendship and talk to each other just like we used to. It
was a truly heartwarming moment, and I deeply appreciated having her back
in my life.

PART 3

1. Is it better to have a lot of friends than just a few friends?

Paraphrase: diễn đạt lại câu hỏi bằng cách nói khác

 Having a lot of friends can be great for meeting diverse perspectives

and having a wide social network. However, having a few close friends
might be more meaningful because those relationships are often
deeper and more supportive. It really depends on what you value
more—breadth or depth in friendships. Both have their own
advantages and can enrich your life in different ways.

- I think had having a few friends will be better. Because Although if you
have a lot of friends, it may provides you some opportunities for
socializing, it maybe exciting to meet new people and you can enjoy
various experiences. It may but it also comes with some challenges in
mantaining meaningful connection. When you having a few friends, it
will be easier for you to strong strengthen the bond with each other.

Relative clauses:

- Dũng: Actually, having a lot of friends can be good for a wide social
network. However, I more prefer having just a few friends but it they
must be close friends/best friends or even best friends, who will be a
supportive person/ support after you whenever you need. I think
make a deep relationship can enrich a true sense of friends.
- Hương Giang: I think/In my opinion, From my perspective, having a few
friends is good better/ I prefer having just a few friends. Although
many having/networking many friends can give me new ideas and
experiences understanding. Close friends are the ones who can give
me (mentally) support and understanding that I really cherished/
which will makes me happy/glad/cherish.
- Phương Thảo: Having a lot of friends brings several benefits, like they
can teach us effective ways to study opening/wide study or
widening our work opportunities. However, besides good relationships,
toxic friendship still exist. In my opinion, quality often matters more
than quantity; having a few close friends is also makes the
relationship deeper and more meaningful, providing provides you
with unconditional support whenever you need. And they offer us a
shoulder to cry on.
- Quốc Khánh: I think/In my opinion, having a few friends will be better
because if you have a lot of friends, it maybe can/may brings you some
experiences and opporturnities to meet new people. However, these
relationships may not always be as deep as/ deeper than having a few
friends. If you have a few close friends it will be easier for you to
strengthen the bond. These friendships will be last for you for a long
time, they will provide you with unconditional support whenever you
need or even offer you a shoulder to cry on they will help you in a lot
of things in your life.

2. Would having just a few friends limit your horizons?

- Dũng: I don’t think so, but in some reasons it may be true. I believe that
having a few friends with deep touch connections and their valuable
knowledge which can make you deep indulge into their diverse stories,
wanting making you want to experience new challenging challenges.
However, it still need to takes step carefully when learning from variety
sources. But after all, I claim that a few real friends still can
broaden your horizons when learning from different people.

- Hương Giang: Having just a few friends can limit my horizons because I’ll
have fewer opportunities to meet new people and learn from different
perspectives. On the other hand, having many/ a lot of friends can
expose me to diverse/different ideas and experiences. However,
having close friends gives me deeper connections and stronger support.

- Phương Thảo: I believe that it does not matter whether we have a few
friends or a lot of them. In fact, having a few (few: rất ít, ko đủ dùng/ a
few: ít, đủ dùng) friends helps us become independent and boost our
creativity. Besides, if we know how to choose friends to play with, we
can become much is much better than choosing the wrong friends, who
are easy to compete with and don’t help us grow or even can stab us in
the back (đâm sau lưng/phản bội).

- Quốc Khánh: In my opinion/From my perspective/I believe that,

having a few friends may make you miss out a lot of new things from
other people. However, if your close friends/these friends your few
friends have different interest(danh từ: tiền lãi) hobbies from each other
they will can/may still help you to grow your personality, help you to
see/explore/discover new things(, help you to learn from diverse
perspectives)

I believe it could, but not necessarily. Having a few close friends might
limit your exposure to diverse viewpoints, but it also means you can
build deeper connections. If you're open-minded and seek out new
experiences outside of your core friendships, you can still broaden your
horizons. In the end, it's all about balancing deep connections with
opportunities to learn from a variety of people.
