WORK WITH OBJECTIONS
Remember, objection is not a rejection it’s a request for more information.
We will provide you with a couple of objection breakers, but in every situation you will have to be savvy
and use your mind.
“Rate is to law” – (1) I understand, but this is the best price for the customer. The compaction is to
height. Its lots of trucks around you giving lower rates. If you don’t wont to stack here, we I would advise
you to take it and get moving.
(2) –We don’t really have many options today and that is the best rate for our customers if you really
want to move out of here you should take it if you don’t want to stuck here for today/the weekend.
(3( - You are making more money moving constantly, running after the bid caches which does
not happen everyday!
“ I am on hold with another company” – first ask for what load, if it’s the same load you want to offer,
or same load you seen in the load board but didn’t offer bid on it with him! If its not the same load ask
him when the hold time expires and try to get the rate from him telling that you will place a bid once his
hold time expires and once you hung up place a bid for the load immediately
Extra tips
When drivers insist on one rate:
Depending on how long you have bided for loads for that particular driver.
1. For the first 3hours, bid for loads with the drivers rate,
2. After 3hours, you must have known what rate goes for loads at different destination.
3. You should be able to tell the driver that, we have been bidding loads now for 3hrs at your rate and
there is no responds. And even the ones that have responded are giving it at a … rate. I think we need to
step down a little.
4. If driver refuses to step down his rates, you should tell the driver that, “today the rates are between …
to … and if you are not going to take them then, you would have to wait next time when the rates are
good”
BUT: if you continue waiting for only good rates, you might end up taking only one load within 2
weeks for good rates. It is better for you to compromise a little so you can get load every day.
5. Make sure you call the drivers all the times to tell them about the loads. Keep them posted on
every steps when bidding loads
6. You are a dispatcher and you should learn how to negotiate, and you should understand the market.
“Load has no dimensions” – we will provide your truck dimensions to the customer to make sure it will
fit.
BIDDING
Once you took a rate from the driver you next fill out the template in any necessary field
Send it to the broker. After it was sent send few templates to make the customer to see your emails
Once the broker responds, try to negotiate rate with him, or if he needs provide all the necessary
info.
SETTING THE ORDER IN THE SYSTEM
When you’ve been awarded with the load next step is to set it up in the system.
First you need to create a folder in Google drive with load number by order and abbreviations of
states “ from and to”.
Then you will have to upload the rate con from the broker and any other paperwork he will send you.
Later when you get pod with pictures of freight, that also should be added into the folder.
Next step Is to dispatch the driver to pick up. Use the info given to you form the RC (rate confirmation) to
build rc for the driver and send it to him by text massage on the phone. See example:
DISPATCHING
Once you dispatched your truck to pu (pick-up) you need to make sure driver is on site on time. Once
he gets “on site” you have to notify the broker. Once driver gets loaded he has to send you a WITH
RECEIVER’S SIGNATURE ON IT AT APROPRIATE PLACE and pictures of freight inside of the truck. Once
you have that, you need to notify the broker and send him photo of bol (Bill of Lading) and photo of
unloaded freight. Both, driver and you need to wait till broker confirms everything with the customer
and gives us good to go.
When driver is on the way you have to provide updates when ever he requests it. Once driver is on site,
you have to notify the broker. Once driver is unloaded he has to send you a GOOD PHOTO OF POD
(Prove of delivery) WITH RECEIVER’S SIGNATURE ON IT AT THE APROPRIATE PLACE and photos of
unloaded freight and you provide that to the broker. Both, driver and you need to wait till broker
confirms everything with the customer and gives us good to go.
