VISIT TO FAUJI FERTILIZER BIN QASIM LIMITED

On 2nd Feburary 2012 Hamdard universitys Faculty Of Engineering Sciences And Technologys batch S08 and F08 visited Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited under the guidance of Dr Syed Faiz Ahmed Engr. Faizan Ahmed and Engr. Furqan Saleem. As per requirement of the our study discipline 4th year Electronic Engineering we the students of Hamdard University were required to visit plants, manufacturing industries, assembly plants etc. This was with an objective of giving us an insight of the operation and the actual appearance of the equipment and devices use in the company. Likewise, this was to supplement the various theories acquired in the classroom for a simultaneous understanding and application. For this Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited was a commodious choice and opportunity that could help in converting a translucent image of field work and company into a transparent image. We were to reach their like around 9 o clock so to accommodate all of us in the university point was a bit trouble because we could not had been made their as per scheduled timing so we hired a private coaster and equally distributed the whole fare. We all were given a warm welcome and at 1st phase we were taken to the conference room where Engr Imran was to give us an overview of Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited. He presented brilliantly and that overview wiped out the blurred image in our mind that what this company is all about. We even asked some random questions and the queries which were left were made clear. After that we were refreshed by the tea. The 2nd phase was comprised of the presentation which was totally devoted for the Electronics Engineer and which really provided us an insight that what our work in the industry is and especially on which equipments and system such as PLCs,DCS (Distributed Control System), Positioner, Sensors, Analyzers etc. This part was full of excitement as the steam was built up by the students and the instructor by the flood of questions and answers as it was totally based of Electronics. In the 3rd phase we were taken to the Electronic workshop and were introduced by the device known as HAARP*. Along with that they also took us on the whole roung of the industry and Engr Imran was briefing each and every process, plants and things and was even giving us the

answers of our questions. We saw a lot of stuff which we just studied from a theoritical point of view. It was no doubt a very informative visit. And we look forward for more frequent visits arranged by the university.
