Argumentative Essay

Children are in prison and everyone is neural about it. Children are stuck in school and are taught to act
like robots for more than 1/4 of their lives. These Seven Cruel Hours Of Our Lives we call SCHOOL are
destroying us. Here are some reasons why I think we should change our school system more like Agora
Roermond.

First, students will become more creative. There is a school named Agora Roermond and their school
system is very friendly and comfortable. In the current school system, students are "programmed" to work on a
task for about an hour and aren't allowed to learn in their own way making them feel "imprisoned." Students
are required to raise their hand just in order to speak, meaning they can’t speak at their own will. They are only
allowed to go to the washroom once their teacher allows them. These reasons cause students to dislike
school. School is a place to learn and succeed but how will students succeed if they don't like their learning
environment and they try to avoid school? Most students can’t learn when they are given a packet and are
instructed to answer the questions on it. Instead, they might be more comfortable learning face to face, or by
hands-on activities. At Agora, students are allowed to use their phones the entire day if they want. They also
learn the way they are more comfortable with so that they actually succeed. Here is an image and a video
talking about this problem. [Link]

Second, students are more likely to learn more because their learning environment is more friendly and
comfortable. One thing that we need to understand is that we’re not all the same. Some of us need to learn
differently than others whether that's by taking short breaks or learning at a different pace. We are all instructed
to learn from a packet and work at the same pace and without many breaks. Kind of like how robots work.
Though this might seem fair since everyone is doing the same work at the same pace, it is not fair because
everyone is different. For example, if everyone in the class understands math but one student doesn't, they
might not ask for help because it will make them feel embarrassed and dumb and this will affect their
education. If the teacher goes at the pace the student is comfortable with, the student will understand. There
are many images regarding this problem.

Finally, there are going to be fewer rates of dropouts and deaths caused by school. Many students drop
out of school because it is very hard for them and they just don’t like how the system works. Others might harm
themselves or even worse, kill themselves because the current school system just isn't suitable for them. Many
young children suicide because of academic pressure. Many other students drop out because they think that
what you learn in school is very useless. Though you are not encouraged to drop out, there are many dropouts
that became very successful and are now millionaires and billionaires without school. Some famous and rich
dropouts are Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. This means that even though you are more likely to
become successful with school, it is still possible to become very successful without the current school.

Opposers might say that students might not learn because of phones. This statement is a pretty solid
statement but phones will help this generation of students learn better because they are more comfortable with
phones, making the school system more comfortable for students. It will also save a lot of money because you
can learn many things for free on the internet but you might have to pay for those same things in real life.
There are some ways so that students don’t just slack off. The school should make an app that is mandatory
for all students to download and when you get the app, you get access to wifi and students can’t access
non-educational apps and websites. Also, teachers can monitor what students are doing and if students are on
their phones too much, then they can shut off their wifi for a bit or something. Opposers also might say that
students won't learn as much as they would from the current school system. This statement is false because
with the new and improved learning environment, students are more likely to be creative and they will actually
remember what they learned. From a quick google search, apparently, 95% of high school students forget what
they learned after 3 days! There is another video where the YouTuber says that he forgot most of the things he
learned in school as well. [Link]

In conclusion, there are many benefits of changing the school system. Students forget a lot of things
they learned in school and they also dislike the current school system meaning they don't like their learning
environment therefore they don't learn much and either fail their classes or drop out. This can affect the
nation’s and the child’s future very heavily. With the new school system though, it is more likely that students
will enjoy school and enjoy learning because their learning environment has improved. This means that they
will also remember more of what they learned in school and this would not only benefit the child but the
nation’s future as well. The government should change the school system in order to benefit both the students
and the nation’s future.
