The 8051 Development Board R1 is specifically designed to help the students and
learners for those who are starting in the area of Embedded systems. Basic 8051 microcontroller
families like Atmel, Philips, Nuvoton and SST as well as designing and testing your applications
in real-time. The main feature of this board is you can easily interface with PC and can also
download the hex file into the microcontroller on the board via USB & RS232 port. Flashing a
program 8051 microcontrollers like PHILIPS, NUVOTON, SST through software Flash Magic,
Nuvoton Flasher, SST Flasher respectively.

1. POWER SUPPLY

3. 4X4 MATRIX KEYPAD AND 8 SWITCHES
While using 4x4 Matrix Keypad or 8 Switches connect jumper Port2.0 to Port2.7
as per your requirements.
4. ULN 2803 SECTION
The ULN2803A provides 8 Darlington transistors with common emitter
configuration.
To drive motors and relays in this output section.
The output current to 500mA.
Connect jumper Port0.0 to Port0.7
5. RELAY SECTION
The Relay has NO-COM-NC.

6. L293D SECTION
Connect Jumper Port1.0 to Port1.5
The L293D provides 4 high current outputs. (M1, M2).
To drive loads like Solenoids, DC Motors, Stepper Motor.
The output current to 600mA.
Motor connects to M1, M2 terminal block.
7. LCD DISPLAY
Connect jumpers Port0.6,07 and Port1.0 to Port1.7
As per requirements by giving LCD Commands you can display any character or
name. (Refer LCD Commands).
The Potentiometer
tentiometer 10k used to adjusting the LCD contrast.

8. 7 SEGMENT DISPLAY

The four Seven segment can be used to display the numbers and hexadecimal
values to microcontroller.
Main feature is Multiplexing.
9. USB PORT / RS232 PORT
Used for Serial Communication.
Flashing the program through USB Port/ Serial Port.
10. RTC DS1307 SECTION
Connect jumper Port3.6 and Port3.7
CMOS Battery used for backup supply in proper timing operation.

11. ADC SECTION
PCF8591 is a 8 bit A/D and D/A converter based on I2C bus.
4 Analog Inputs.
Flash the hex file into the microcontroller.
Connect Jumper and varying pot Digital output shown in LCD Display.
12. EEPROM 24CXX SECTION
Connect jumper Port3.6 and Port3.7
To read and write the data in EEPROM memory.
13. ONBOARD POWER SUPPLY SECTION
For external devices access 12V, 5V, GND.
14. BUZZER SECTION
Buzzer already connected to port pin.
Flash the hex file then connect jumper you can check the output of buzzer.
15. LED SECTION
Connect jumper Port0.0 and Port0.7
Flash the hex file then you can see the led outputs.
