ABSTRACT
This internship project focuses on utilizing Tableau for data analytics and visualization to predict
house prices. The main objective was to analyze datasets containing various parameters
influencing housing prices—such as area, location, number of bedrooms, and amenities—and
create predictive insights. Through this internship, I learned to clean data, visualize patterns, and
build interactive dashboards that helped in identifying the most influential factors affecting housing
costs.
INTRODUCTION
Predicting house prices is one of the most important aspects of real estate analytics. Accurate price
prediction assists investors, developers, and homebuyers in making data-driven decisions. Tableau
was used to explore and visualize the data, enabling interactive exploration of key features. This
internship aimed to bridge academic learning with practical exposure in data analytics and business
intelligence.
OBJECTIVES
1. To preprocess and clean raw housing data for analysis.
2. To perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover hidden trends.
3. To create interactive dashboards using Tableau.
4. To predict housing prices based on identified influential factors.
TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES USED
• Tableau
• Python (Pandas, NumPy)
• Excel
• Jupyter Notebook
• Matplotlib
• Seaborn
METHODOLOGY
The project was executed using the CRISP-DM methodology. It involved stages such as data
collection, data preparation, exploration, visualization, and reporting. After cleaning the data using
Python, Tableau was used to design dashboards that showcased relationships between
parameters such as location and price, area and price, and number of rooms and price.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The analysis revealed that location, square footage, and the number of rooms are the most critical
factors influencing house prices. The Tableau dashboard provided dynamic filtering options,
allowing users to visualize price distribution by region and compare average prices for different
property types. Predictive trends indicated that properties near urban centers showed significantly
higher valuation growth.
CONCLUSION
This internship provided valuable insights into data visualization and analytics. Tableau’s ability to
present data intuitively helped transform raw information into meaningful insights. The project
strengthened my understanding of analytical processes, dashboard design, and predictive analysis
in the real estate sector.
KEY LEARNINGS
• Data cleaning and preprocessing techniques.
• Building dashboards and storyboards in Tableau.
• Correlation and trend analysis.
• Interpreting visual insights for decision-making.
