3.4 Lengths
The length of the leads is not set, however it is recommended that the values given in table 3 are used. In cases of
absolute necessity other lengths may be used - see table 4.

Note: Rules for new design
For the electrical bonding of structural elements likely to conduct lightning, braids longer than 220 mm shall
no longer be used without the prior consent of the departments dealing with system studies and
standardization.
4 Designation
This type of standard shall be designated according to the philosophy of the following example:
Description block Identity block

Number of this standard
Type code (see table 2)
Length code (see table 3 and 4)

5 Notes
5.1 These components may be only used when the connecting points do not lie on the same level or are located
on movable parts.
5.2 When connected to units or systems generating or processing frequencies above 100 KHz, care must be taken
for reasons of electromagnetic compatibility that the length: width (L : B) ratio does not exceed 5 : 1.
6 Marking
Each bonding strap must be permanently and legibly marked (color black) with the standard number, type code,
length code and the manufacturer's name or logo of the assembly and shall be in accordance with EN2424, style A.
