Additionally, streamlined administration and feedback collection allow for ongoing adjustments in educational strategies, ensuring alignment with competency-based outcomes .
The CBA Portal enhances the accuracy of school data management by allowing SCDEs to edit, add, and delete school details directly within the system. The portal's structured interface for capturing comprehensive school details further supports precise data entry and updates .
The CBA Portal has the potential to significantly improve educational outcomes in Kenya by providing a centralized, efficient system for managing learner records and assessment outcomes. By streamlining processes such as school registration and learner transfers, the portal reduces administrative burdens, allowing educators to focus more on teaching and learning. Furthermore, by facilitating accurate data collection and assessment result tracking, the portal enables more informed decision-making for educational improvements. The portal's feedback mechanism also ensures continuous evaluation and enhancement of assessment strategies within the competency-based framework .
The CBA Portal allows Sub County Directors of Education (SCDE) to transfer learners by first finding the learner's current details using their name or Assessment Number. Once the learner is identified, the SCDE enters the school code of the new school, confirming the details displayed before clicking the Transfer Learner button. This process facilitates seamless transitions between schools within a sub county, ensuring learners continue their education without disruption .
The CBA Portal assists in evaluating the effectiveness of assessments by allowing SCDEs to view, download, and print various reports related to examination administration. Additionally, SCDEs are required to fill in feedback questionnaires on the conduct of assessments, providing qualitative data that can be used to improve processes and outcomes in different sub counties .
The registration report feature of the CBA Portal allows SCDEs to generate detailed data regarding learner registration within their sub counties. This information is critical for educational planning as it provides insights into enrollment numbers, enabling more accurate forecasting and strategic resource allocation, such as deploying teachers, educational materials, and infrastructure according to the actual needs of each school .
Using school codes in the CBA Portal improves efficiency by allowing SCDEs to quickly locate the specific school they need to manage without browsing through long lists. This feature simplifies the processes of editing or deleting school records and registering new learners, thereby reducing time spent on data entry and minimizing errors. It enhances systematic management within the portal .
The feedback mechanism within the CBA Portal contributes to continuous improvement by requiring SCDEs to complete and submit questionnaires on their experiences with assessment procedures. This process ensures that qualitative data are collected regarding challenges and successes in assessments. By analyzing these feedback submissions, education authorities can identify areas needing improvement and implement targeted strategies to enhance the accuracy and fairness of assessments across sub counties .
The Competency Based Assessment (CBA) Portal allows Sub County Directors of Education (SCDE) to add new schools by clicking a button on the portal to generate the necessary interface. SCDE must then capture and input all the required details, and upon confirmation, the new school is automatically added to their list of schools within the sub county, streamlining the management process .
