CONTENT MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM (CMS)
WHAT IS CONTENT
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS)
• A content management system (CMS) is a computer program
that allows publishing, editing and modifying content as well as
maintenance from a central interface. Such systems of content
management provide procedures to manage workflow in a
collaborative environment.
WHAT IS WEB CONTENT
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
• A web content management system (web CMS) is a
bundled or stand-alone application to create, manage,
store and deploy content on Web pages. Web content
includes text and embedded graphics, photos, video,
audio and code (e.g., for applications) that displays
content or interacts with the user.
• Web CMSs usually allow client control over HTML-based content, files,
documents, and web hosting plans based on the system depth and the
niche it serves.
WHY SHOULD WE USE A WEB
CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
• There are several possible reasons for using a
Content Management System, but the main
reason for using a CMS is to make creating and
editing of content simple and easy.
Selecting Web Content Management System
• There are three major types of WCMS namely:-
• Offline Processing
• Online Processing
• Hybrid Systems
• Offline processing-These systems pre-process all content, applying
templates before publication to generate web pages.
• Online processing-These systems apply templates on-demand. HTML may
be generated when a user visits the page or pulled from a web cache.
• Hybrid systems-Some systems combine the offline and online approaches.
Some systems write out executable code (e.g., JSP, ASP, PHP, ColdFusion,
or Perl pages) rather than just static HTML, so that the CMS itself does not
need to be deployed on every web server.
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Web

this system can affect other pages. Always contact your developer if you are not
