Our governance

Think global, act local

At Stibo Systems, we recognize that social responsibility starts at home. In addition to supporting our communities at a corporate level, we work to add value to those communities in a personal way. We encourage all our employees to spend two workdays a year volunteering locally through our Global Volunteer Program. Take a look at some of our CSR initiatives below.

Green power volunteering

Our colleague Franck Vallée spent his two volunteer days and some of his own vacation bringing solar-powered electricity to the remote village of Kargiak in the Himalayas.

Frank has been passionate about energy optimization and solar panel installations for a long time, and he wanted to put his knowledge to use where it is most needed. He partnered with the French association Nyamdu-dro and he went to India where he supervised and trained a group of students engaged in this field. Together, they spent 5 days setting up solar panels, equipping community buildings, and educating the locals about using electrical appliances. Now, a minimum of 50 residents in the village of Kargiak now have access to solar-powered electricity.

Christmas spirit shared

Joyeuses fêtes from Stibo Systems France! Our colleagues in Paris embraced the Christmas Spirit not only by decorating their office or enjoying a Christmas lunch, but also by volunteering to distribute gifts to children and families who need them the most.

Growing green to build a team

Our colleagues from Latin America gathered in Bogotá to celebrate a decade of Stibo Systems in the region. Between various meetings and activities, the team found some time to give back to the planet by planting 135 trees in the wetlands of Colombia. It was a great opportunity for the team to connect in person, and we thank them for getting their hands dirty to create a better world.

Helping hands in Atlanta

Our CSR Ambassadors team in Atlanta organized 10 volunteers to help at The Grocery Spot, a store that provides free, quality food and a dignified shopping experience to those in need. The volunteers cleaned and stocked the store, helped shoppers carry groceries, took donations, and restocked shelves as items were taken. It was a very rewarding experience for everyone involved and, as they all wanted to go back and help again, the team will work to schedule additional volunteering dates.

Connecting with those in need

Our Benelux team based out of Amsterdam, spent their volunteering day with the Salvation Army to refurbish a local community centre in the Dutch city of Utrecht. The local community centre brings people of the neighbourhood together through sports. It is also a place where refugees can connect with the locals, and avoid isolation and loneliness.

Our colleagues share that they had a great day out creating a pétanque area, getting the furniture ready for summer and go out on cargo bikes to share coffee and conversations with locals around the centre.

Extra wheels for healthcare teams

When India was going through the worst wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, our local CSR team wanted to do whatever they could to help save lives, which is why they decided to partner up with the NGO Yuva Spoorthi Foundation. Together, they converted a vehicle into an ambulance that provides oxygen support and basic medical facilities to those in need, free of charge.

Serving those who served us

A group of employees from Atlanta volunteered for Meals on Wheels, an organization that is dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation, by loading up meals for further distribution to those in need. They helped take the boxes from refrigerators, stacked them onto long tables outside, and loaded them into cars. And, yes, there were some issues due to data problems! Sometimes, a senior on the route list did not have a meal/box as expected, or there was an extra box, but Meals on Wheels had extra meals of every type to fill in the gaps.

Meadow patch behind the window

Our two green fingered colleagues, Patrick and Clément, have turned a part of the area surrounding our headquarters into a wildflower patch. Soon, those of us based in Aarhus will be able to enjoy this wildflower garden during our lunchtime walks.
