Being a purpose-driven company delivering trustworthy Master Data solutions requires commitment to leading ethical, social, economic and environmental standards.
At Stibo Systems, social responsibility and environmental consciousness are integral to our purpose. While our social responsibility contributes to the economic and sustainable development of the communities around us, we also commit to empowering companies worldwide to achieve their sustainability objectives and optimize business, environmental and social performance through our sustainability data cloud. This is what we mean by being a business with a conscience.
Our CEO, Adrian Carr shares what it means for us to be a business with a conscience.
The four focus areas in which we take responsibility and make a difference are inspired by the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals
A guide for all our sustainability efforts
We are committed to working systematically to reduce our carbon emissions and environmental impact from our entire operation, leading by example in our industry.
Our Emission Reduction Plan focuses on areas that can contribute to the greatest impact first. These include, but are not limited to, use of solar panels at our Headquarters in Denmark, sustainable procurement, green travel policy and moving our customers from on-premise to Software-as-a-service solutions.
We were awarded a Silver medal in recognition of our sustainability achievements in the Ecovadis assessment. This is based on our policies, actions and published reports concerning the themes of Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
Ecovadis has certified more than 130,000 companies in over 180 countries, spanning across 200 industries, and we are proud to be among the top 15% of these companies. We are in the 91st percentile, meaning that our performance is equal to or better than 91% of companies scored by Ecovadis. We are aiming to be among the top 5% of companies in the next fiscal year, which will lead us to a Gold medal.
We have tied up with the Science Based Targets Initiatives to create a Carbon Emission Accounting & Reduction Plan. These scientific targets provide a clearly defined pathway for reducing our greenhouse emissions in alignment with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
With the targets we have set up and the strategy we have set around it, we are working towards becoming Net Zero by 2050.
At Stibo Systems, we want to set industry leading standards in talent attraction through partnerships and graduate programs. Further, we want our workforce to reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate. We treat each other with respect, and we support and respect internationally recognized human rights as formulated in the UN Human Rights Declaration and the internationally recognized labor rights as specified in the International Labor Organization (ILO) core conventions.
We are taking steps to expand the number of women in leadership positions to 30% within our organization, having increased representation from 23% to 27% over the past 3 years.
To strengthen our efforts, we run programs such as Women in Stibo Systems, the Female Leader Project, and our Graduate Program. Additionally, we are investigating our if we have any internal Gender Pay Gap issues and also exploring how we can foster a more inclusive environment for Neurodiverse individuals.
Working with colleagues around the world requires that we are aware of and respectful to all. For this, we have a formal training of all our People Leaders on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion that is refreshed annually, so we are always expanding our thinking.
At Stibo Systems, we recognize that social responsibility starts at home. In addition to supporting our communities at a corporate level, we work to add value to those communities in a personal way. Our efforts are a result of the internal community we have built. All our employees receive two workdays a year that they can spend on volunteering through our Global Volunteer Program.
Through the Global Volunteer Program, our employees decide how best to contribute to their communities. Whether it's stocking groceries for vulnerable groups, mentoring students, building community spaces, or writing holiday cards to bring joy to the elderly, our team comes together to make a meaningful impact in their local communities.
The Global Volunteer Program is supported by a global team of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Ambassadors who coordinate activities and share lessons learned.
We reiterate our commitment to UN Sustainable Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, partnering with organizations such as ReDI School in Denmark and Year Up United in the USA and support their missions to offer equal opportunities through mentoring and placements.
To ensure our commitment to our Sustainability strategy, we have established a clear governance framework, that includes a CXO-level Steering Group sponsored by our CEO and CFO and led by our Chief Sustainability Officer. We report to and work with the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee to ensure transparency and accountability in our efforts. We have a dedicated ESG & Sustainability team.
From reducing energy consumption at our Aarhus headquarters to innovative water-saving practices, we are continually striving to minimize our environmental impact. Our initiatives also extend to proper waste management, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and setting ambitious targets for becoming Net Zero by 2050.
Additionally, as participants in the UN Global Compact, we uphold the highest standards for human rights and employee well-being, fostering an inclusive, fair, and safe workplace globally. These efforts are rooted in our belief that sustainability is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to create a lasting positive impact.
