GUIDE
Here is the final performance task scenario you are to accomplish:
For National Arts Month, as an effort to promote interest and passion for the literary arts and
to support Filipino artists, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will be
awarding a financial grant to a chosen literary group that will enable them to perform to a
wider audience.
The chosen group shall have the honor of having their production staged in universities all over
the Philippines, funded by NCCA.
As a creative writer and artist, you are to collaborate with other individuals from different fields
to form a literary group that will come up with the best original script and production of a one-
act play.
The output will be evaluated by a panel of esteemed literary artists, critics, and scholars based
on the different elements of a play, i.e. literary elements, performance elements, and
technical elements.
But as alternative, the evaluation on the concepts provided in this course will be delivered
through a monologue presentation anchored on the one-act play script making.
The given performance task will enable you to deepen your compassion and empathy with
your fellow men. Your ability to envision the complexity of human life is also developed as you
experience life vicariously, which will promote your social responsibility, initiative, leadership,
productivity, and innovation within yourself. To complete the performance task, this module
provides the overview of the necessary information that you have to learn, read, understand,
discussion questions that you need to answer sincerely, and assessment activity that will
determine your comprehension of the lesson.
