1. GENERAL REQUIREMENT
• Conduct pre-job safety meeting.
• Ensure PTW, JHA & WMS are discussed in PJSM.
• Discuss job responsibilities & QHSE roles for all personnel involved in installation of hose
hanger and complete rig up process in a safe manner.
• Verify all control measures, hazard mitigation and precaution are in place.
• Ensure correct lifting gears for the equipment ( size, rating, length)
• Ensure escape routes during emergency are not blocked prior to any activities.
• Ensure both platform crane & portable crane is ready and in good condition to support
installation process.
• Ensure the safety equipment (PPE) required to perform the job is available
• Ensure good communication system is established to perform and complete job safely and
efficiently.
• Ensure walkie-talkies are available and a designated channel for HWU personnel is used at
all times.
• Know your emergency muster stations.
• Ensure all left-over equipment on platform main deck is cleared to maximize deck space
for next operations.
• Ensure barriers and signage are erected where required.
• Observed weather condition from time to time. Stop work is wind speed more 25 knots.

2. Hose Hanger Installation (Platform)
1. Ensure hose hanger unit and accessories in good condition. Refer Pic 1 for Hose Hanger
picture/diagram.

2. Lift and Position hose hanger to installation area. Refer pic 2 below for hose hanger location on
platform.

3. Position hose hanger on platform beam as per picture 3 below. Ensure affected beam clean from
debris or oil.

4. Once in position, install clamp system to the platform beam. Tightened up the bolt and nut per
recommended torque . refer picture 4 for clamp system.

3. Hose Hanger Installation (Accomodation Work Barge - AWB)
1. Ensure hose hanger unit and accessories in good condition. Refer Pic 5 for Hose Hanger
picture/diagram.

2. Lift and Position hose hanger to installation area. Refer pic 6 below for hose hanger location
on AWB.

3. Once in position, secured hose hanger properly (welded to AWB deck).

4. Hose Installations/ AWB Pull Out
1. Ensure all hoses in good condition by visual check.
2. Ensure all hoses comes with lifting clamp and lifting sling.
3. Connect and tightened required hose length for the operations.
4. Connect hoses to platform hose hanger and secure it with clamp. Refer Picture 7.

5. Lift the other end of hoses using platform crane and swing toward the AWB hose hanger.
6. If needed, use air tugger to align the hose toward the connection at AWB hose hanger. Refer
picture 8 for hose at AWB hose hanger.
7. Once aligned, secure and tightened the connection with brass hammer.

9. Ensure enough hoses length with proper U shape at the bottom to preven hose from damage.
10. Secure the hose end at the barge as per picture 10. The hose lifting gear will be attach with wire
rope sling.

11. The other end of the wire rope sling will be secure at the gangway with shackle. Please make sure
the wire rope sling is long enough that it will not be in tension if the hose is released. Please refer
picture 11.

12. In the event of emergency pull and AWB to be pulled out, hose disconnection required to be done
in correct and safe manner.
13. Using hammer, slowly hammered the union and break the hose.
14. Ensure the hose being secured properly before AWB pull away.

5. Hose Retreival
Option 1; using Platform Portable Crane.
1. Retrieve wire rope sling that was secured at platform hose hanger.
2. Connect wire rope sling attached to platform hose hanger to platform portable crane.
3. Swing towards AWB hose hanger.
4. Connect and tighten the hose to connection at AWB hose hanger.
5. Secure back the hose’s wire rope sling to platform hose hanger with shackle.
Option 2; via air tugger.
1. For retrieval of hose, please ensure AWB resume back operations and gangway is accessable.
AWB.
2. Retreive wire rope sling that was secured at gangway.
3. Manually pull the wire rope sling to the barge and line it up pass through the swivel on the barge
hose hanger’s lifting arm. Then, secure the shackle to the air tugger’s wire rope sling timble eye.
Please refer picture 12.
4. Pull the wire rope sling via the air tugger until the hoses come out to the surface.
5. Slowly pull the hoses and align to the connection at the hose hanger.
6. Connect and tightened required the weco connection.
7. Loosen back the hose’s wire rope sling. Dismantle shackle connectiong the wire rope sling to the
air tugger.
8. Secure back the hose’s wire rope sling to gangway with shackle.
