I. Job Set-Up

Subtask: 27-11-03-860-002-A

(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as it was at the end of the
removal task (AMM TASK 27-11-03-000-801-A/400).

Subtask: 27-11-03-940-005-A

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL BONDING GIVES A GOOD

ELECTRIC CONDUCTIVE PATH. IF NOT, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT
OR THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(2) Do the bonding procedure, method 7 (AMM TASK 20-13-21-910-801-A/200).

J. Aileron Surface - Installation

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-003-A
(Figure 401, Sheet 1)

(1) Install the aileron to the hinge fittings.

NOTE: Any sequence of installation attaching the hinge fittings from number 1 to
number 5 is valid provided that the hinge fitting number 2 is installed first.

(2) The aileron surface must be installed in the sequence that follows:

WARNING: WHEN YOU WORK WITH SOLVENTS, ALWAYS OBEY THE

MANUFACTURER'S HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

PUT ON APPROVED PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, FACE MASKS,

GOGGLES AND GLOVES. SOLVENTS ARE POISONOUS. DO NOT
BREATHE THE VAPORS OF SOLVENTS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS
OF TIME OR DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR SKIN. THEY CAN
CAUSE EYE AND SKIN IRRITATION, RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS,
HEADACHES, SLEEPINESS, OR FAINTING.

MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A GOOD AIRFLOW IN THE AREA.

SOLVENTS ARE FLAMMABLE. KEEP THEM AWAY FROM SPARKS,
FLAMES OR SOURCES OF HEAT.

IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS INJURY CAN OCCUR.

(3) Apply a thin layer of compound Material Ref. COR-BAN 27L to the bolt (11).

(4) Apply a thin layer of grease Material Ref. AEROSHELL 33 to the bushings (10).

(5) Install the bushings (10), washers (9), bolt (11) and locknut (7) to install the aileron
surface (1) to the hinge point 2.

NOTE: You can use a maximum of 3 washers on the locknut side.

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-004-A
(Figure 401, Sheet 1)

(6) Make sure that the threads of the locknut (7) and bolt (11) fully engage. The base of
the locknut (7) must not touch the surface.

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-005-A
(Figure 401, Sheet 1)

(7) Turn the locknut (7) and measure the locking torque with a torque wrench.

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-006-A
(Figure 401, Sheet 1)

(8) Make sure that the locking torque is 1.58 - 11.30 N.m (14 - 100 [Link]).

NOTE: If you find a locknut (7) that is not in the correct range, you must replace
the locknut (7) and do SUBTASK 420-004-A, SUBTASK 420-005-A and
SUBTASK 420-006-A again.

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-007-A
(Figure 401, Sheet 1)

(9) Add the locking torque value measured in SUBTASK 420-006-A to the standard
torque of 33.9 - 45.2 N.m (300 - 400 [Link]) to get the final torque.

the locknut (22) and do SUBTASK 420-024-A, SUBTASK 420-025-A and
SUBTASK 420-026-A again.

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-027-A

(45) Add the locking torque value measured in SUBTASK 420-026-A to the standard
torque of 13.5 - 16.9 N.m (120 - 150 [Link]) to get the final torque.

(46) Apply the final torque to the locknut (22) with a torque wrench , as follows (Figure
401, Sheet 3):

(a) Tighten the locknut (22) to the bolt (26) to remove clearance. Refer to Figure
401, Sheet 3.

(b) Torque the locknut (22) with the minimum final torque value and continue to
torque as necessary to align its slot with the cotter pin hole in the bolt (26).
Refer to Figure 401, Sheet 3.
NOTE: Be careful not to apply more than the maximum torque value.
(47) Use a gauge-feeler set 0.01 - 0.05 mm to do a check between aileron surface and
hinge fittings, as follows (Figure 402):

(a) Make sure that the dimension 1A is bigger than 2A.

(b) Make sure that the dimension 4A is bigger than 2A.

(c) Make sure that the dimension 4D is bigger than 2D.

(d) Make sure that the dimension 1D is bigger than 2D.

(e) Make sure that the dimension 5A is bigger than 2A.

(f) Make sure that the dimension 5D is bigger than 2D.

(g) Make sure that the dimension 2A is bigger than 0.85 mm and smaller than
dimension (2C minus 1.6 mm).

(h) Make sure that the dimension 2D is bigger than 1.0 mm and smaller than
dimension (2B minus 1.6 mm).

(49) Safety the locknut (22) to the bolt (26) with new cotter pin (23) (AMM TASK 20-10-
02-910-801-A/200). Refer to Figure 401, Sheet 3.

Subtask: 27-11-03-420-028-A
