The Sponsored Products Marketplace team owns the advertising system that helps display relevant ads within

millions of search results and product detail pages daily. It helps connect Amazon suppliers with Amazon customers
through the SP advertising system. The advertising system uses query and ASIN understanding to select the relevant
ads, uses machine learning and AI to help anticipate shoppers’ response such as click and conversion rates, and uses
auction and game theory to allocate the ads to placements shoppers see and determine prices for the ads. In
addition, the team provides tools for advertisers to target their ads, control their bids and provide recommendations
to help them design impactful ad campaigns. We seek to understand the needs of selling partners and shoppers to
operate the ad marketplace in a way that both helps shoppers discover delightful products as well as helps selling
partners execute their insightful campaigns to be discovered by shoppers. Our team has to balance algorithmic
optimizations with economic perspectives of auctions and keen engineering to produce high performance
marketplaces for performance advertising.

The Sponsored Products Advertising Supply team owns the delivery, integration, and shopper experience of
Sponsored Products Ads. A fast-growing part of the Amazon Advertising organization, our team works on complex
engineering, optimization, econometric, and shopper- experience problems so that we can maximize the
opportunities to delight our customers with a compelling and highly relevant shopping experience. We're looking
for self-driven engineers who can work across the stack with a strong bent for high-volume, low-latency distributed
systems. Our team thrives on solving tough and complex problems across system design, front-end and back-end
cutting edge technology, big data, and machine learning in order to delight our customers with best-in-class shopper
experiences.

The Sponsored Brands team enables brand owners on Amazon to engage shoppers who are researching and
exploring product options to drive brand discovery and build stronger customer relationships. We work on a broad
range of areas including machine learning, distributed computing, large scale system design, spark big data
pipelines, and more. Our engineers and scientists develop ML solutions and infrastructure for marketplace
applications such as sourcing, relevance, ranking and driving better utilization of our supply and demand. We
develop predictive models to better match ads to shopping intent yielding to a more engaging experience for our
customers. Our goal is to help brand owners connect with shoppers by positioning their promoted products.

The Strategic Category Acceleration team owns developing and accelerating advertising integrations for emerging
advertising product lines globally. A fast-growing part of the Amazon Advertising organization, we work on complex
engineering, optimization, econometric, and shopper-experience problems so that we can maximize the
opportunities to improve the customer journey on Amazon. We have a mandate to redesign experiences and
technical stacks – from scratch if needed - in order to raise the customer experience in our supported product lines.

The Ad Supply & Monetization group owns advertising supply across Amazon. We create, configure and manage
new advertising experiences within Amazon. We own the front-end stack
– the widget and ads libraries that sit on the page along with a run-time engine that drives ad flow for shoppers.
Our engineers leverage full-stack technologies (front end, scaled services, machine learning and optimization), with
our charter being to deliver compelling shopping experiences optimized to user interests and matching advertiser
demand to Amazon supply in a high-scale, low-latency environment. We work closely with economists, data
scientists, sales, and product teams to run efficient pricing algorithms to ensure strong performance for our global
customers.

The Performance Advertising Core Engine (PACE) team develops core features and tools to support advertising
programs across the advertising organization. These include Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Display Ads
and PDA programs for seller, vendors, authors and publishers. We focus on providing core services for ad serving,
campaign management, advertiser registration, access management, catalog systems, billing, data ingestion,
analytics, moderation and relevance systems. We develop large scale distributed computing, storage and analytic
systems that processes billions of ad requests, campaign creation, impressions and clicks to enable and accelerate
our advertising business.

The Performance Ad Serving, Campaign Management and Billing Services team develops core services that
underpin advertising programs such as Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands. The Advertising Campaign
Storage Service stores Ads catalog and notifies downstream systems about any changes in real-time. We handle
millions of requests and process billions of events daily and are building the next-generation system to support low-
latency Catalog Data Access Service, a highly available/scalable Storage layer and a real-time streaming publishing.
We manage the end-to-end Advertiser account management experience including registration and granular access
control. The Ad Serving system is a large scale, distributed, and highly available system that hosts specialized logic
of sourcing, relevance using machine learning models while maintaining a low-latency within milliseconds
supporting multiple ad products. We process billions requests per daily, cleanse the incoming raw data, discard
robotic and other low quality traffic sources, apply business logic and perform various transformations to ease large
scale Analytics processing. The Advertiser Communications and Engagement System manages central
communication and engagement, integrating with systems generating operational, marketing and product
communications and delivering communications to advertisers via their preferred channels (email, UI, mobile etc.).
The Advertiser Billing systems own end-to-end billing function with real-time data ingestion pipeline, billing
adjustment, promotions, invoicing, tax integration and fraud management. The Advertiser Budget Management
System provides end-to-end ad campaign budgeting and spend management services. We process millions of events
daily to provide budget capping at multiple levels via different budgeting policies and are working on building the
next gen budgeting system to support low latency, highly available/scalable data processing systems. The systems
are pushing boundaries in terms of scale of storage, data processing and real-time propagation.

The Audiences team is a foundational part of advertising at Amazon. Our services analyze billions of behavioral
signals to construct audience segments that align with our advertisers’ goals and deliver highly relevant ads to
customers. To do this, we’re building systems with a variety of technical challenges: from high throughput and low
latency services that can vend audience signals in real time, to frontend tooling that an advertiser can use to create
its own audience segments in our self-service systems.

Measurement and Data Science (MADS) develops machine learning algorithms and high performance, petabyte-
scale distributed systems to deliver campaign reporting for Amazon Advertising. Our innovative engineers and
machine learning scientists sit at the intersection of two vast data sources -leveraging retail data to optimize
advertising and measuring advertising impact on shopping events. We deliver the campaign reporting for all of our
advertising businesses through a reporting API servicing millions of queries per day, utilizing billions of richly
decorated events summarized in minutes utilizing the latest big data and streaming technologies. The team develops
measurement services, helps Amazon as an advertiser and our advertising customers better understand the impact
of all their advertising on Amazon shopping events. We work in some of the most exciting computer science domains.
We are managing massive scale streaming systems, applying machine learning and data science expertise using
Hadoop, Elastic MapReduce, and Spark to drive optimizations and insights while building front-ends to help internal
and external advertisers to deeply understand their audiences and market segments. We develop new means to
measure activity with Amazon services and devices as well as the metrics and tools to understand campaign
performance. We are creating the cloud to allow advertisers and their agency or measurement partners to build
new solutions in Amazon Web Services to improve their ad campaign performance and enrich their understanding

Advertiser Content Experience (ACE) is building advertising products which are delightful and additive for the
Amazon shopper. We are constantly looking to invent new and engaging mobile advertising experiences centered
on high quality, highly relevant, responsive and highly performant videos. Our startup team culture is centered on
experimentation, iterating quickly and getting rapid feedback from our customers. We believe in giving our team
the freedom, support, and encouragement to think big and invent on behalf of our customers. We own the delivery
of all the technology to support our ad program including the advertiser experience; the shopper interface; and the
ad serving infrastructure.

The Advertiser Experience (AX) group improves experience for advertisers by delivering the full life cycle of self-
service performance advertising management, from creating new campaigns to managing existing campaigns and
extending into new ad products. The Advertising Console team within AX runs the advertising portal and supports
an SDK that developers use to build applications on the portal. The Campaign Building team within AX builds new
advertising campaigns across multiple ad products. The Reporting and Campaign Management team builds our
campaign management systems, supporting advertisers and campaigns of all sizes around the world with graphical
dashboards and sophisticated metrics presentation and visualization services. Our full-stack teams build and run
petabyte scale reporting systems, code world-class UI on ReactJS, and develop advertising recommendations
through machine learning systems.

The Advertising API team enables large-scale advertisers to programmatically access Amazon advertising products,
campaign management, and reporting functionality across all marketplaces in which we serve ads worldwide. We
are creating an Advertising API product by building reusable frameworks, services and tools. Our product runs on
top of AWS, utilizes AWS API Gateway and we use microservices architecture and big data processing for analytics.
For advertisers and agencies without access to developer resources, we also provide web-based bulk campaign
management operations and reporting. Our goal is to enable advertisers, agencies and 3rd party solution providers
to innovate and operate at scale, driving increased advertiser performance on Amazon.

The Amazon DSP (demand side platform) team allows advertisers to reach millions of Amazon customers. This team
owns the Amazon DSP web application for advertisers to place orders for programmatic ad campaigns. Our
campaigns serve ads on Amazon and across the Internet. We provide a rich, impactful customer experience for
advertisers through innovative front end technologies. Think order management for real time bidding of ads and
across the Internet Including capturing limit prices, targeting, ad selection, bulk updates, integration with algorithms,
and connecting to publishers and advertising exchanges. Advertisers manage self-service campaigns end-to-end at
scale using the Amazon DSP. We also build localized experiences for our growing international business.

The Amazon Publisher Services team helps digital publishers around the world build and grow thriving businesses.
We provide services and advanced technologies to web, mobile app and TV publishers of all sizes, to help them
monetize their content and gain insights about their own audiences. Our server-side header bidding solutions are
fast and reliable across devices, handling billions of queries per day, delivering ads in milliseconds. The result is more

The Advertising Campaign and Creative Services, within the Campaign and Creative Services advertisement team,
we have full-stack engineering teams building an Order Management System, as well as self-service applications for
our creative services. The team also owns front- end products, integration with production services, advertiser level
granular permission systems and a highly scalable backend system. Our teams are made up of talented engineers
with full- stack skills (JavaScript, React, Java, ElasticSearch, NoSQL, RDBMS, EMR Spark Clusters, Python and

The Advertising Technology Team works on three areas that make sure advertisers can take the most advantage of
Amazon’s first and third party advertising supply. The Supply Optimization and Experimentation Team applies
machine learning techniques to optimize bidding and make sure only the most suitable bid requests are sent to
the bidder. The Inventory Forecasting and Yield Optimization Team applies time series modeling and full stack
engineering to provide advertisers and account managers with a media planning UI. The Supply Quality team applies
machine learning to provide advertisers with Traffic Quality, Brand Safety and Viewability services.

The Sponsored Brands Customer Experience and Stores team is responsible for the customer experience for pay-
per-click Sponsored Brand advertising on Amazon. The team focuses on three main areas for growing Amazon’s
brand advertising program: (1) Seek out additional ways for advertisers to impress their intent & brand to shoppers.
(2) Find more ways for shoppers to find what they are looking for on Amazon, and discover new products & brands
in the process, and (3) Provide insights and optimization levers to both advertisers and internal product managers.
We are comprised of multiple teams that own systems across multiple domains like front-end (Web, React Native),
high-throughput services (Java, NodeJS), distributed systems for Analytics (like Spark) and data-science & machine
learning (Python, Java).

The Brand Engagement and Stores team is responsible of providing brands and advertisers a permanent presence
on Amazon and an elevated UX destination to promote their message and products using Amazon Advertising. We
offer tools for brands to provide us with fresh content, and use such content to help shoppers discover and engage
with brands and their message across their journey on Amazon. To accomplish this, we own modern front-end
applications based on NodeJS, ReactJS and cutting edge microservices, data repositories and big data processing
leveraging AWS.

The Supply Infrastructure Services team provides foundational services to programmatically bid on web, mobile and
OTT ad supply. Our distributed, low-latency, high throughput service stack receives, filters and enriches nearly 2MM
bid requests/second and enables programmatic bidders to bid and participate in real-time ad auctions across supply
channels. With growth in mobile and video supply, we’re building machine learning based algorithms to optimize
supply paths and improve ad delivery for advertisers. Our real-time bidding infrastructure produces over a trillion
events a day, all of which is streamed, stored and aggregated to generate reports, study results of experiments and
analyze efficacy of our algorithms. We are innovating to enable close- to-real-time analysis and feedback into
optimization algorithms. Our mission is to enable massive global supply growth across web, mobile and video and
provide a scalable service infrastructure for bidders to efficiently transact across display, video on demand, live
streaming and audio formats.

The Device Advertising team’s mission is to create both the client side software and large scale advertising solutions
that enable Amazon to lower device prices and add value to our customers’ device experiences. We work on cutting
edge Amazon device technology, building device-specific ad products for FireTV, Fire Tablet, and Kindle without the
top-down schedule of hardware- focused teams.
The Cornerstone team owns systems responsible for serving display and video across a variety of supply sources
such as Amazon owned and operated websites and mobile applications, and third party sites and apps. The data,
analysis and technical frameworks we build enable our systems to handle the demands of scaling the display ad
business, enabling both enterprise and small business self-service growth. We build and operate low latency, highly
distributed ad serving software that runs at massive scale, along with offline machine learning infrastructure to allow
us to delivery highly relevant content to end customers. Operating at this intersection of low latency, distributed
systems, and machine learning, our work allows advertisers to make incredibly precise and impactful decisions that
directly impact their ad performance.

The Display Application Infrastructure team forms the backbone of the Ad management technology stack by
providing scalable and secure solutions to the concerns that span across various ad programs. Our mission is to
enable partner application teams to deliver high quality business offerings for our end customers at the speed and
scale the business demands. The team is responsible for display advertising features to 1MM+ suppliers and their
partners, to deliver on key objectives of acquiring new customers or driving sales. The team will focus on multiple
technical challenges ranging from building the user experience, scaling existing infrastructure, building public API
integrations for suppliers, expanding to new and existing marketplaces, building creative integrations for multiple
channels, optimizing for better ad performance and working on a variety of technologies ranging from AWS services,
API development, React and JavaScript for frontend concerns and building low latency micro services.

The Video Demand team enables advertisers to plan, buy, and optimize video advertising campaigns across screens
and measure outcomes. Our video advertisements show up on 3rd party websites, connected TV apps (such as
[Link], PlutoTV and PlayStation Vue), ad supported channels such as IMDb TV, and live events. We are a cross
functional team, owning the entire experience for our video advertisers end-to-end. Video Demand developers work
at all levels in the Video Advertising stack, including front end development, video technology, ad technology, and
algorithm development.

The IMDb TV team’s mission is to build earth’s most customer-centric free premium video service. We will
accomplish this by acquiring a catalog of compelling and unique TV and Movie content, building a best in class media
streaming customer experience, and making it trivially easy (and free) for hundreds of millions of customers to enjoy.
