[Link] Terms and Condition:
•Battery shall be operated at an Ambient Temperature of 23°C ± 2°C. The maintenance of the airflow should be uniform across
the entire installation.
•Battery Charging Parameters:
Float Operation – 13.38V ~13.80V at 25°C
Cyclic Operation – Auto Float to Boost change over & vice versa.
Auto Float – 13.38V ~13.80V at 25°C
Auto Boost - 14.40 V ~ 14.70V at 25°C
Ripple Voltage – 0.5RMS
Ripple Current – 5% of Ah Capacity.
Note: Temperature Compensation Factor to be considered in case, if the battery is operated at other than 25°C. Output Voltage
to be adjusted to 18mV/12V Block / per °C
•Battery Shall be charged immediately after discharge.
•For Higher rating Battery system with more than 3 banks in parallel, it is recommended that the installation should be with BUS
BAR and the length of cables running from UPS to Battery Bank has to be equal in all the Battery Banks. Since UPS does not have
provision of space to connect so many battery banks it is recommended to have junction box provision made at site, for such
paralleling.
•Auto-Diesel Generator (Auto DG) - Site should be equipped with Diesel Generator, especially an Auto-DG. Further, DG log data
and UPS Log Data should be shared by the End Customer with GPSGC representative or with the UPS OEM. In case of Manual-DG,
the time interval log for every power-cut and the DG going Online to has to be submitted.
•UPS OEM to ensure charging current parameters are as per Battery Data Sheet and suggested Capacity. UPS OEM to check if the
above said UPS’ will support sufficient charging options (for both Standby and Boost) referring the Battery Capacities as stated by
GPSGC in the above sizing. Also, we recommend to refer our Data Sheet. In case of any shortfall to support charging via respective
UPS’. The UPS OEMs to arrange external charger to ensure batteries are charged sufficiently after every discharge. In case of Direct
•UPS OEM to ensure capacitors at the site are in healthy condition and that timely replacement of ageing capacitors shall be
undertaken. Please note that due to ageing capacitors, batteries should not be exposed to high ripple current. In case of Direct
order by the end customer, this query to be taken up by the End User directly with the UPS OEM. Please ignore this point in case
of New UPS supply.
•UPS OEM to undertake UPS calibration every month to ensure all parameters with respect to batteries are in synchronization
with battery operation manual. In case of direct order, the End Customer to ensure every month calibration is done by the UPS
OEM.
•Bulging is not covered under warranty. Also, if the battery is damage due to improper handling of the battery by an
unauthorized person, the same shall not be covered.
•Battery failure attributed to external reasons such as inadequate battery sizing, improper charging parameters and improper
site conditions are not covered under the purview of the warranty.
•In case of replacement, the defective battery becomes the property of the Company and no scrap rebate will be entertained on it
•Any unforeseen incident, such as fire or physical damage due to improper installations, loose connections, external short
circuits, use of non-standard interlinks cables, ventilation related issue, etc., are not covered under the purview of the warranty
•GPSGC representative shall have access to visit battery installation and to check the maintenance record during Business hours
to honour product warranty.
•All high voltage installations to be checked & approved by GPS prior to taking it into operation.
•Battery Brand mix up and different capacities are not covered under warranty,
•Monthly Before Commissioning of the batteries and taking into operations, it is mandatory to give Boost and equalising charge
as per the recommended voltage setting
•Quarterly and yearly records to be maintained by the End Customer or the UPS OEM as per IEEE guidelines.
•Battery warranty shall be considered in line with the Float / Cyclic usage. In case, if batteries are operated under cyclic
application & number of cycles are consumed during the operation prior to end of warranty offered in terms of number of years,
warranty shall be nullified.
•Battery shall have adequate time to get fully charged before meeting the next emergency or size with minimum DOD to
achieve optimum performance of the battery.
•High Voltage Installation – Glass Fibre insulation is recommended to be provided on MS Racks for proper insulation.
•DC Earth leakage detectors relay to be provided to detect earth leakage from Battery / cable insulation.
•In Case Batteries are operated without A/C (Air Conditioner) No warranty shall be offered unless agreed upon.
•Batteries to be installed at least 1000 mm from any form of heat source. No A/c outdoor unit to installed in the battery room.
Hope, the above is in line as per your requirement. Please feel free to address your queries to our GPS representative.
