Course Title : Nursing Informatics

(Adopted and modified from ADPCN Sample OBE-BSN Course Syllabus)

Course No. : NCM 110

Course Description : This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques on nursing informatics in clinical practice, education
and research. The learners are expected to use the system of informatics to support the delivery of health care in the
atmosphere of love and peace

Course Credit : Theory: 2 units (36 hours); Lab – 1 unit (54 hours)

Placement : Second Year, Second Semester

Prerequisite : None

Program Outcomes :

1. Apply knowledge of the physical, social, natural and health sciences, and humanities in the practice of nursing.
2. Apply guidelines and principles of evidence-based practice in the delivery of care.
3. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally appropriate language.
4. Work effectively and develop love and peace in collaboration with inter-, intra- and multidisciplinary and multicultural
teams.
5. Practice beginning management and leadership skills in the delivery of client care using a systems approach.
6. Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global developments in general, and nursing
and health developments in particular.
7. Demonstrate responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino embracing love and peace.
8. Apply techno-intelligent care systems and processes in health care delivery.
9. Adopt the universal values of love and peace as well as nursing core values in the practice of the profession.

Level Outcome : At the end of the second year, given a normal and high risk mother and new born, child, family, population group and
community in any health care setting, the learners demonstrate safe, appropriate, and holistic care utilizing universal
principles of love and peace and the nursing process.

Course Outcomes :
1. Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences, and humanities in nursing informatics.
2. Provide safe and appropriate and holistic care of clients applying the nursing informatics system in the nursing process
as the framework of care.
3. Apply guidelines and principles of evidence-based nursing practice utilizing information technology.
4. Practice nursing in accordance with existing llegal, ethical, and moral principles in the application of information
technology.
5. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally appropriate information system.
6. Document client care accurately and comprehensively with the aid of information technology system.
7. Work effectively and develop love and peace in collaboration with the inter-, intra-, and multidisciplinary and multicultural
teams in nursing informatics..
8. Practice beginning management and leadership skills using systems approach in the delivery of care.
9. Conduct research with an experienced researcher utilizing appropriate informatics system application.
10.Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global development in nursing informatics
and technology.
11.Demonstrate love and peace, responsible citizenship and pride as a Filipino nurse in the use of information technology.
12.Apply techno-intelligent care systems and processes in health care delivery.
13.Adopt the universal values of love and peace and the nursing core values in the application of Technology System in

14.Apply entrepreneurial skills in the use of information technology in the delivery of nursing care.
