TEACHER’S ACTIVITY LEARNERS’S ACTIVITY

A. Routinary Activity

Good morning class!

Good morning teacher!
How are you today?
We’re fine teacher!
Are you ready for our new lesson for today?

Before we start let us first start our day with

a short prayer Yes teacher.

Everyone stands up, bow your heads, close

your eyes, and feel the presence of God. (Everyone bows their heads and close
their eyes)

Dear God,
We thank you for this day and the many
blessings we have received. We ask that
you bless the work that we do here in our
class and give us patience, courage, and *PRAY*
perseverance to face whatever challenges
may come. Bless our teachers and
students with wisdom to learn from each
other. Help us to be good stewards of your
creation.

In Jesus name, Amen!

Before you take your sit kindly pick up the

pieces of paper under your chairs (Pick up pieces of paper)

Group leaders, is there an absentee today?

No Teacher
Very good!

B. Review

Before we start to discuss our new topic for

today let us first have a short recap of our
topic last meeting

Last meeting, we talked about the elements

of a poetry

Do you still remember those elements of

poetry that we’ve discussed?
Yes Teacher
Will you give those elements?
Rhythm
Meter
Stanza
Rhyme

Symbolism
Rhyme Scheme
Very good, children! All of your answers are
correct; you really understood our lesson
last meeting very well.

C. Motivation

Before we start our new lesson for today, let ANSWERS:

us first play a game, our game is called
What Am I? 1. Seed
2. Flower
Our class will be divided into two groups, I 3. Soil
have here a riddle, each group will be given 4. Sun or sunlight
a bell, I will tell a riddle and once I say 5. Water
WHAT AM I each group will race to ring the
bell, a group that ring the bell first will be
the one to say their answer and if their
answer is wrong the other group will have a
chance to steal and say their answer. A
group who got the correct answer will earn
a point and the group who got a highest
point will win the game.

1.
I am a small and full of potential,
You plant me to start something special,
With soil and care, I begin to grow,
Into something beautiful,
As you’ll soon know.

WHAT AM I?

2.
I am the result of all your care,
With petals bright and scent to share.
I bloom in colors, a beautiful power,
All from a seed — I am a……

WHAT AM I?

3.
I am soft and brown, I hold the seed tight,
Giving it food and the place just right.
Without me, the seed cannot grow,
I’m essential, this you must know.

WHAT AM I?

4.
I bring warmth and energy from high in
the sky,
Without me, plants cannot even try.
I’m bright and hot, shining every day,
Helping the little seed along its way.

WHAT AM I?
5.
I come down in drops, soft and clear,
Without me, the plant cannot appear.
I soak the soil and help things grow.

WHAT AM I?

D. Presentation of the Lesson

On our game a while ago, what are the

words that you have guessed? will you give
the five
Seed
Flower
(Write the words on the board) Soil
Sun or sunlight
Water
Okay, now let’s read it together
(Read the writings on the board)
Based on what the words that you’ve read,
what do you think will be our topic for
today? Anyone?

Yes, Ejie?
About plants and how they grow
Very good! It’s all about how plants grow
because today our topic is about a poem
titled 'A Little Seed.'"

E. Development of the lesson

Class, look at this image. This is a seed. Do

you know what a seed is?
Yes teacher, it’s something we plant to grow
a tree or a flower!

That's correct! A seed is like a tiny baby

plant. It's a little package that holds
everything a plant needs to grow big and
strong. Imagine it as a tiny sleeping
princess or prince, waiting for the right time
to wake up. Wow, a sleeping princess? That sounds
magical!

Yes, seeds are amazing! They may look

small and simple, but they hold the potential
to become something much bigger, like a
tall tree or a beautiful flower.

Now, can anyone tell me what we need to

do to wake the seed up?
We need to water it everyday teacher
Very good!

With soil, water, sunlight, and care, the

seed can grow into something wonderful.
Seeds may be small, but they can create
big, beautiful things. Isn't that amazing?
Yes teacher
Now, do you want to read the poem of A
Little Seed?
Yes teacher
Great, let’s read the poem together. I'll read
it first, and then you can follow along.

(Read the poem "A Little Seed" aloud.)

Now let’s read it together

(Read the poem "A Little Seed" aloud.)
Did you enjoy the poem?
Yes teacher
What did you notice about it?
It's about how a seed needs things to grow.
That's right! What are some of the things
the seed needs?
Soil, water, sunlight, and care teacher
Very good! Now, let’s break it down.

Why do you think the seed needs water?

Because it helps the seed grow and stay
alive!
Exactly. Water gives the seed the nutrients
it needs. How about sunlight? It gives energy to the seed.
That’s right. Sunlight is like food for plants.

Now, how about care? Why is it important?

Because without care, the plant might not
grow properly!
Very good! Care is like love, it helps things
grow better, whether it’s plants or even
people!

Class, think about yourselves as seeds.

What do you need to grow as students?
We need to study, listen to our teachers and
parents, and work hard!
Wonderful answers! Just like the seed, you
need the right 'sunlight' and 'water' to grow.

Children always remember that with care,

effort, and patience, just like the seed, you’ll
grow into something amazing.

The poem teaches us about the importance

of patience and putting in effort. Just like a
seed takes time to grow into a strong plant,
we need to be patient as we work towards
our goals.

Do you understand class?

Yes teacher
Great!

F. Generalization

What is the title of the poem that we

discussed? A Little Seed
What is the poem A Little Seed about?
It’s about a seed and how it grows into a
flower.
What are the things a seed needs to grow,
as mentioned in the poem?

Why is care important for the seed? It needs soil, water, sunlight, and care.

Because without care, the seed won’t grow

properly.
How can we compare ourselves to seeds?
like seeds, we also need care, effort, and
patience to grow.
G. Application

Activity: Drawing Plant Growth Steps

The class will be divided into 4 groups, each group will draw the steps of how a seed
grows into a plant based on the poem discussed. Add the soil, water, sunlight, and
care. Make the poster colorful. Afterward, each group will choose a representative and
share their drawing in front and explain each step they put in their poster.

H. Valuing

Now, I want you to look at these two plants.

One is healthy, and the other is withered.

(Show a picture of healthy plant and

withered plant)

What do you think made the difference?

The healthy plant was taken care of, while
the other one looks like it wasn’t cared for
Exactly! The healthy plant received care,
patience, and effort. Now, how can we
connect this to our life as students?
I think if we put effort into our studies and
take care of our responsibilities, we can
grow and do well, just like the healthy plant
That's right! Just like the plant, we need to
care for our learning. But what happens if
we don't give our best effort?
If we don't take care of our work or help
each other, we might not grow as much. We
could feel lost or fall behind.
Correct, and that's why it's important to help
each other. Just like we care for plants, we
should be kind and patient with our
classmates. So, what can we do to help
ourselves and others grow?
We can support our friends when they
struggle, share what we know, and always
try our best in school.
Great!

So, remember this, class: Just like plants

need care, effort, and patience to grow, you
also need those same things to succeed as
students. The effort you put into your
studies, the patience you have with yourself
and others, and the care you give to your
learning will help you become the best
version of yourself. Keep nurturing your
mind and heart, and you will grow into
someone who can achieve great things!

Do you understand children?

Yes teacher
Very good!
