Building and construction refer to all the activites related to
designing, creating, renovating, or demolishing structures such as
houses, apartment building, schools, factories, or bridges.

• Building mainly focuses on structures for living or public use


(like houses, schools, hospitals).

• Construction also includes large infrastructure projects like


roands, tunnels, dams, etc.

This field involves many professions : architects, engineers,


bricklayers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.

Building and construction are essential sectors for economic and


social development :

• They create many jobs across various trades

• They improve living conditions by providing housing, schools,


hospitals, etc.

However, they also raise environmental issues : pollution, high


resource use, waste.
