Accomplishment Report on
LAC- Learning Action Cell: SY 201-2022
In DepEd, a Learning Action Cell/ is a group of teachers who engage in collaborative
learning sessions to solve shared challenges encountered in the school and facilitated by the
school head or a designated LAC leader. It will become the school-based communities of
practice that are positive caring and safe spaces.
Amidst pandemic, the teachers undergo the series of trainings pursuant to DepEd
Order No. 35, s. 2016 entitled “The learning Action Cell (LAC) as K-12 Basic Education
Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the improvement
of Teaching and Learning, to acquire more knowledge and ideas to be used in the new trend
of teaching called “New Normal Education.”
The school requested expert resource speakers from our very own SDO Lipa to
discuss the following topics that would help enhance the teachers’ development needs:
 Perception on Instructional Issues and Counseling in the New Normal
 Metodong Two-Track sa Pagtuturo sa Panimulang Pagbasa at Pagsulat
 Critical Thinking Skills on How Children Learn Math in an Easy Way
 Integrative Approach of Performance Assessment

With the topic, Perception on Instructional Issues and Counseling in the New Normal,
the teachers will be able to equip with appropriate knowledge and skills for efficient and
effective teaching strategies especially this time of pandemic. The resource speakers are Dr.
Evelyn A. Flores, our PSDS in North District and our very own School Head, Ms. Agnes O.
Titular, Principal III. This was conducted on December 16, 2021 via google meet.

Through this session, the teachers were once again ignited with enthusiasm and
dedication to enact the noblest profession on the world- To teach. Here, teachers learn that
pupils can and will still be able to grasp new knowledge and skills despite the hindrances
and circumstances brought by the Pandemic. With this, teachers were seen cooperating on
collaborative task, brainstorming, and forums. They also presented an output through a job
embedded learning which is crafting of intervention.

The next topic is facilitated by Lipa SDOs EPS in Filipino, the very vocal and
enthusiastic Filipino Language expert, Dr. Fernando B. Enriquez. His topic is about,
Metodong Two-Track sa Pagtuturo sa Panimulang Pagbasa at Pagsulat, Effective Teaching
Strategies for Reading and Numeracy, Marungko Approach. Here, teachers did able to gain
knowledge on the contextualization of reading materials. Teachers were enlightened by
various approach of facilitating literacy among learners.

-the proper way of teaching how to read, syllables and phonetics

-the best practices to be used in helping the learners vocalized reading text and at the same
time comprehend passages

Dr. Maria Fe Bautista, EPS of Kindergarten and SPED is the 3 rd speaker of the
School Learning action Cell under Effective Teaching Strategies for Reading and Numeracy.
She facilitated the topic, Developing Critical Thinking Skill-How Children Learn Math and
Read. Several issues that hinder ability of children to learn Mathematics are mentioned in
her discussion. Well, those issues are also given with remedy through the strategies and
approaches she tackled to address this. Numerical approaches like functional counting,
visual representation and part to whole engagement to the basic mathematical concept. She
also addresses the issues experienced by young learners upon starting to read. Approaches
and strategies on teaching basic reading and crafting contextualized resources are the
things she added that will help improve pupils’ literacy.

Teachers also attended the Integrative Approach of Performance Assessment.

Teachers really need to capacitate themselves for this topic since the shifting of face to face
modes of learning to online and modular distance learning. Assessment and weighing the
learners’ performance of pupils on a specific competency is a challenge for each teacher.
Here, with the aid of our very kind facilitator, the Lipa City EPS in Science, Dr. Francia M.
Silva, the teachers did able to grasp knowledge on the construction of Performance
Assessment. Several teachers were given with a chance to open their suggestions, queries
and opinions on the subject matter. Afterwards, teachers then able to collaborate for the
assigned task or the accomplishment of the Job Embedded Learning. They able to construct
TOS (Table of Specification) and Test Questions with the application of the knowledge they
learned during the LAC session.
And based on the observation conducted by the principal and the output submitted by
the teachers such as test questions, learning plans, accomplishments, interventions and
learning outcomes, the following are the significant impacts of the Learning Action Cell in
teaching and learning process being documented throughout the period of the events:

 Improved the reading level of the learners. Several pupils were identified as
independent readers.
 Enhanced the pupils’ skills on solving mathematical exercises and problems
evidently seen on the result of pupils’ performances
 Increased school learning outcomes in all areas
 Capacitated 100% of the teachers on delivering the learning instructions effectively
through the distance learning

workloads for teachers and learning tasks for learners and
 Procured and collected all available resources that are helpful, relevant and sufficient
to the needs of the learners
