Project Title: Smart Helmet for Rider Safety using IoT and Sensors
Project Overview:
The Smart Helmet is a safety-enhancing system for two-wheeler riders. It includes alcohol detection,
helmet presence sensing, accident/crash detection, and emergency alert systems. The helmet must
be worn and safety checks must pass before allowing the bike to start. It enhances road safety and
emergency responsiveness.

Working Description:
1. Helmet Check:
- IR sensor inside the helmet confirms it is worn.
- Without detection, bike ignition is locked.
2. Alcohol Detection:
- MQ-3 sensor detects alcohol in rider's breath.
- If alcohol is above threshold, buzzer rings and ignition is blocked.
3. Wireless Communication:
- RF transmitter on helmet sends status to bike.
- Receiver confirms safety checks and allows ignition via relay.
4. Crash Detection:
- ADXL accelerometer senses sudden impact or fall.
- GSM module sends SMS alert to emergency contacts.
- GPS (optional) sends location along with SMS.
5. SOS Button:
- Rider can press button to trigger emergency SMS manually.

- OLED display for status
- Voice alert module
- Solar battery charging system
- Bluetooth for phone integration
