1) Suppose that a positively charged particle with charge q moves in a circular path of
radius r in a constant magnetic filed of strength B. If the magnetic field strength is
doubled to 2B, what effect does this have on the radius of the circular path that this
charge takes?

2) A uniform magnetic field of magnitude 1.00 T is directed perpendicular to the plane of a

rectangular loop having dimensions 7.7 cm by 11 cm. Find the magnetic flux through
the loop.

3) A 2.40 m length of wire is held in an east-west direction and moves horizontally to the
north with a speed of 15.3m/s. The vertical component of Earth’s magnetic field in this
region is 40.0 𝜇𝑇 directed downward. Calculate the induced emf between the ends of
the wire and determine which end is positive.

4) (T19 #48) Two wires are separated by d = 10.0cm and carry currents of I = 5.00A in
opposite directions. Find the magnitude and direction of the net magnetic field at the
point midway between the wires and a point “P” 20cm to the left of the left wire.
