🎬 Short Film Script

🎞 Scene 1 – Said & Silent”

Location: Rooftop • Streets • Home • Café
Camera Style:
 Slow dolly shots
 Lens flare transitions
 Cross-fade of laughter with bokeh lights

📸 INTRO SEQUENCE (Voice-over with still shots of early morning life: empty streets, father
ironing clothes, rain-soaked shoes, old buildings, slow traffic)
D1 (Voice-over, male – deep tone):
"Jo bina aansuon ke aur bina awaaz ke rota hai… woh baap hota hai.
Jo bachon ki kismet ka ched apni baniyan mein pehenta hai… woh baap hota hai.
Naye jootey sabke liye aate hain ghar mein… uske liye baap ke jootey geele ho jaate hain.
Jo doosron ke sapne apni aankhon mein pehenta hai… woh baap hota hai.
Yeh sach hai ki maa humein 9 mahine kokh mein rakhti hai…
Par jo 9 mahine dimaag mein rota hai… woh baap hota hai.
Baap ek rakhwala hota hai, baap dilwala hota hai.
Baap apni aulaad se har kar bhi muskurane wala hota hai.
Baap karta hai… par kehta nahi.
Aur jab baap samajh mein aata hai… tab tak woh paas hota nahi."
🎵 Background: Light ambient instrumental — melancholic piano with low strings.

🎭 Camera switches to introduction of all 7 characters, one by one, in quick montages:

 Kabir making others laugh but alone in the mirror
 Aman writing by the window
 Meera sketching intensely
 Riya observing people from a café corner
 Naina helping a friend but sitting alone after
 Sahil smiling while vlogging, face drops as camera turns off
🎬 Cut to: Parent Pressure Montage
Camera:
 Over-the-shoulder shots of parents
 Close-ups on faces of students
 Slight zooms and mirror reflections
 Ambient ticking clock sound in background

👪 Parent-Child Interactions:
P1 (Father to 1st child):
"Aage kya karne ka iraada hai?"
Child 1 (Aman – Writer):
"Arts… Literature."
P2 (Parent):
"Science kyun nahi?"
Aman:
"Kyuki mujhe writer banna hai."
P2 (Sarcastic):
"Aree waah, kya likhoge?"
Aman (confidently):
"Sab kuch."
Father (Interrupts, sternly):
"Kuch nahi likhega yeh."
(Camera: Slow push-in on Aman’s sad, fearful face)

C2 – Parent (mocking tone):

"Interest hai kaha tumhara? Ped ke neeche baith kar kahani sunane mein?"
C3 – Parent (angry):
"Dekh raha hoon, aisa kya hai iss camera mein?
Jiske liye tu padhai nahi kar raha hai!"
C4 – Mother (softly, hesitant):
"Beta… kar lena na MBA. Papa keh rahe hain toh."
C5 – Parent (taunting):
"Tumko kya lagta hai, life itni easy hai?
Kamaoge kya kavita likh kar?"
C6 – Child (Sahil – broken but compliant):
"Papa, aap jo bologe main karne ke liye ready hoon…
Kal jakar admission le leta hoon."
C7 – Parent (final blow):
"Tumko jo acha lagta hai, zaroori nahi hamesha wahi karo life mein…
Yahan paisa hi sab kuch hai!"
