Ⅰ. Regulations for safe operation
1. The operators must obey the regulations for safe operation.
2. The operators must be trained.
3. Keep clean and neat around the machine.
4. The operators must wear personal protection appliances, close-fitting
work clothes, protection shoes, protective spectacles and work cap to
make sure the hair not be entangled into the machine.
5. The operators must read the operation manual and the relative
information to make sure they can operate the machine correctly.
6. The operator should memorize and get familiar with the position of the
emergency stop button for the purpose of pressing down the button
whenever needed.
7. The inside of the electric cabinet and the motors contain some high
voltage terminals and other very dangerous parts, which should not be
approached or touched.
8. If two or more operators work together, they should keep in contact with
each other, and inform each other before taking a new step to ensure
human safety.
9. The protective guards of the machine should not be opened during
working.
10. Repair of the machine and maintenance of its electric system should
be carried out by professional servicemen.
11. All the protective guards should be installed properly before the
machine is started.
12. Long-acting water soluble cutting oil of type AVANTIN 361Ⅰ is
recommended to act as coolant, mixed in the proportion of 1:12~20.
13. 32# oil is recommended to be used as lubrication oil.
14. Before the machine is started, the workpiece should be held tightly
and reliably.
15. The machine should be connected to the ground reliably so as to
avoid danger of electric shock.
16. The machine should never be used in flammable, explosive or humid
environment.
17. Maintenance of the machine must be carried out by professional
service men, and the parts must be replaced by those from the machine
manufacturer, otherwise it may be dangerous to the operator.
18. Do not process flammable materials with this machine, such as
magnesium.
19. The machine should be disassembled and assembled supported by

the lifting mechanism with sufficient bearing capacity.
20. Make sure to keep children far away from the machine.
21. The operator must keep clear-minded when operating the machine. It
is not allowed to operate the machine after the operator drinks or takes
medicines.
22. To adjust the position of the cooling nozzle, stop the machine first.
23. Sharp tools should be used. Deformed or dull tools should not be
used.
Ⅱ. Instructions for safe operation
Attention: Before operating the machine, the operator must read this
manual carefully and operate conforming to the instructions of the manual.
If the machine is not operated in accordance with the method or steps
specified in this manual, the operator has the risk to be injured or the
machine may be damaged.
To prevent accidents or accidental damage to the machine, some
protective facilities such as protective guards for screw guide track, belt
guards, chip baffle, limit switch, emergency button, etc are equipped. But
the operator must conform to the regulations for safe operation to effectively
avoid accidents.
The warning messages and possible breakdowns carried in this manual
only include the predictable situations, excluding those possible ones.
1. Requirements for installation of the machine
(1) To guarantee its precision, installation of the machine should meet
the following requirements:
a. The site where the machine is used should not exceed 1000m above
sea level.
b. The temperature should be 5-40℃.
c. The relative humidity should not exceed 50% (at 40℃)
d. The light in the working environment should not be lower than 500
lux.
e. Environment for installation: with no acid or alkali, no-corrosion, no
oil mist, no dust.
f. Position for installation: avoid direct sunshine or too much vibration.
(2) Requirements for the main power source:

a. Voltage: AC 380V
b. Voltage fluctuation: max. ±10%
c. Frequency: 50±1Hz
d. It is prohibited to lead out the main power from the switch board with
interference source (for example, the switch board also supplies
power for electric welder and spark machine), which will cause the
motor to work abnormally.
e. The machine should be earthed separately (it is prohibited to use null
line as earth wire). If common earth wire is used, other equipments
should not produce much interference (for example, welder and spark
machine).
(3) Requirements for installing the electric cabinet and the operation
panel:
a. Make sure the iron chips, coolant and oil will not be splashed to the
electric cabinet.
b. The electric cabinet and the operation panel should not be influenced
by big oscillation or impact.
c. The environmental temperature allowed for the electric cabinet is 0-
45℃.
d. The environmental humidity allowed for the electric cabinet is <75%
(with no condensation).
e. The max. height above sea level allowed for the electric cabinet is
1000m.
2. Attention should be taken while operating:
(1) Make sure there is no subjects on the parts of the machine
(2) Make sure the door of the electric cabinet and the rear cover of
the system case are closed.
(3) Make sure the oil in the lubrication station is efficient.
(4) Make sure the operating buttons act easily.
(5) Make sure the air pressure is 5-7kg/cm2 (0.5-0.7MPa).
(6) Make sure the emergency switch is in released status and works
normally.
(7) Make sure there is no person around the moving parts of the
machine.
(8) Make sure protective guards are installed to the proper position.
(9) Order of powering on: first engage the external power switch of
the machine, then the master power switch of the electric cabinet,
finally the CNC panel (the order is just opposite for disengaging it).

Special explanation
1) For packing, the driving motor in Z direction has been disassembled
before delivery. Please take it out from the pack and mount it onto the
pedestal at the top of the column, and connect it directly with the screw
in Z direction by the lock coupling. Make sure to use straining lever to
lock the coupling screw tightly, then connect the cable.
2) For` transportation, the spindle and the counterweight in the column have
been fixed before the machine is delivered. After the driving motor in Z
direction is connected and fixed well, power on the machine. Move the
spindle box upward in manual mode, until the box separates from the
supporter slightly, now take down the supporter; then move the spindle
box downward slowly, at the same time observe the tension of the two
chains from above the column (it is recommended to operate the machine
with handwheel), until the chains are just strained in the guide slot, but it
should not be too tense. At this time, the round shaft for fixing
counterweight can act freely in the hole of the column. Loosen the round
shaft screw from one end to get the shaft out from the other end.
3) The bamboo hat type tool magazine has been fixed before delivery. By
loosening the screw marked in red under the tool magazine guards near
left of the machine, the tool magazine is free.
4) For the machining center, the secondary installation of the driving motor
in Z direction will cause deviation of tool-change position, and so should
be readjusted in the following way (for bamboo hat type tool magazine):
a. After powering on the machine, first reset each axis to null, and cancel
various warning; keeping the spindle at high enough position, operate
manually the electromagnetic change valve at the side face of the
column for controlling the tool magazine (on the valve there is a
button controlling direction change), to make it move to the lower part
of the spindle.

b. Mount BT40 type tool bar as illustrated.
C. Move the spindle slowly downward until H≈2mm, observe if the tool
magazine and tool bar have obvious change. If not, input the Z coordinate

value in the current display into the parameter 1241, then move the spindle
upward to H≈115 or higher, but not to the limit point, then input the Z
coordinate to the parameter 1242, the lowest point and highest point of tool
change is set well.
d. Power on the machine again, test correctness of the above mentioned
devices with tool-change order, but notice that the current position of the
tool magazine and the spindle should not have tools simultaneously. There
is mounted with pin screw on the tool bar.
3. Attention points for operation
(1) After powering on, carry out all the works specified in the manual for
daily check and maintenance.
(2) The dimensions and types of the selected tools should meet the
requirements of processing and conform to the specification of the machine,
so as to avoid use of damaged tools which may lead to accidents.
(3) The workpieces, jigs and tools should be mounted firmly and reliably.
(4) When the spindle is rotating, it is prohibited to touch the workpiece
or the tool.
(5) To clean the iron chips, stop the machine first. Clean chips with a
brush, a broom or a special tool. It is not allowed to clean the iron chips
with nude fingers or clean them with hand during machining.
(6) The machine should not be started when the protective guards are
dismounted.
(7) The tools can be mounted or dismounted only after the machine stops
running.

(8) During machining, it is prohibited to touch or approach the moving
parts of the machine.
(9) It is prohibited to touch any switch or button with wet hand.
(10) Before operating the switches or the buttons on the panel, get familiar
with the operation illustration and the position of the buttons, so as to
avoid wrong operation.
(11) To avoid local over wearing of the worktable, screw and guide track,
it’s better to often change the holding position of the workpiece on the
worktable.
(12) Often check the oil scale or the oil level of the oil line, replenish it
timely when it is insufficient.
(13) Prevent coolant or lubricant from flowing to the ground, so as to
avoid pollution and accidents.
(14) Avoid rotary or moving parts especially when they are rotating at
high speed.
(15) Never start the machine when the workpiece touches the tool. Only
when the machine reaches its steady speed, can machining begin.
(16) During machining, splash of chips and coolant may lead to injury.
Please protect yourself.
4. Pay attention to the following after machining finishes
(1) Clean the environment around the machine.
(2) Make the worktable or the spindle stop at proper positions.
(3) Switch off the power source before departing.
(4) Before switching off the power source, first restore the buttons and
knobs on the operation panel to the position for stop, and then switch off
the power source.
5. Attention points during service
The machine can be repaired and its parts be changed only by
professional servicemen that have been trained.
To avoid accidents or damage to the machine, the following
principles should be followed during check and repair:
(1) When breakdown occurs, press down the emergency stop button on
the operation panel to stop the machine.
(2) When the machine can’t work normally, inquire relative brochures
and the operation manual to decide proper measures to be adopted.
(3) If two or more persons work together, they should establish contact
with each other and inform each other before taking a new working step
to ensure human safety.
(4) Many electric elements are installed on the machine. They are easily

impaired by cutting fluid, oil, dust and vibration for their location.
Breakdowns of the machine are mostly caused by these elements. Since
most of the elements are easy to operate and repair, the user usually can
find the causes and shoot the trouble by themselves, but pay attention
that only the appointed parts can be used to replace the damaged ones.
(5) Before check, repair or change the parts, cut off the power source
first. And lock the switch at off position.
(6) The dismounted parts (elements) during service should be replaced
with the same new parts at the very spot, and be fixed with the screws
of the same specification if possible.
(7) The instruments used in service should be calibrated.
(8) It is prohibited to leave flammable objects or metals in the electric
cabinet or the terminal box.
(9) Check regularly if the cables and wires are damaged so as to avoid
leakage of electricity or electric shock.
(10) Service of the electric cabinet
a. Turn off the main switch before opening the door of the electric
cabinet.
b. The serviceman must pay special attention that the inlet-wire of the
main switch is still alive after the switch is turned off. When it is
necessary to open the door of the electric cabinet with electricity for
check and service, take care. It is prohibited to touch the live objects
in the cabinet.
(11) Regular check to the electric cabinet:
Check regularly the external surface of the electric cabinet to keep it
clean and dry.
6. Warning mark for safe operation
Danger of electric shock. Never touch the parts with this mark.
Warning
The earth wire of the external power source must be
connected to the terminal marked with “PE”.

Ⅱ. Use and application scope of the machine
This machine is a middle-sized vertical machining center, applicable for
multi-step machining such as milling, drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, etc,
especially capable of precision machining of complicated parts in the
industries of automobile parts and moulds.
Performance features:
Adopt high-rigidity straight-rolling guide slot featured in high moving
speed and high positioning accuracy;
Capable of high-precision milling of straight line and arc at any angle,
and drilling and tapping as well;
Tool-change system can change tool at high speed and in shortest route;
AC servo spindle motor needs no maintenance of changing electric
brush, but can select optimum cutting speed at your will;
Fully utilize electric technique to simplify mechanic structure and
replace hydraulic transmission, so as to improve reliability and facilitate
maintenance;Standard disposition provides rich NC functions, such as: LCD
display, various cyclic function, tool compensation, program memory and

Ⅳ. Components of the machine
1. NC system
To facilitate operation, the input and display parts are fixed at the front of the
machine, the electric cabinet is at the rear part and connected with the whole machine.
2. Servo unit
The servo unit includes three feed axis, No.4 axis (when No.4 axis is equipped),
control drive part of spindle, which are all located in the electric cabinet.
3. Servo motor and master motor
Feed motor is AC servo motor, and master motor is AC servo spindle motor.
The spindle speed can be appointed by S code plus 4 digits. Optimum cutting
speed can be selected according to cutting conditions.
4. Worktable and spindle head
Servo motor drives precision ball screw directly via precision flexible coupling,
which can mostly reduce reverse clearance, improve positioning precision. The guide
track is of straight rolling type with high rigidity, no low-speed climbing, and with good
precision keeping performance. The spindle box body is featured with good rigidity and
rational dimension contrast. The spindle is high-speed unit of renowned brand from
Taiwan. It pneumatically transfers tool, and at the same time, blows air to the toolbar
with the pull rod in the spindle unit, blowing off chips from toolbar instantly, avoiding
damage to the pyramid.
5. Tool magazine
The tool magazine is fixed on the left of the column by supporting arm. The standard
disposition of this machine is bamboo hat type tool magazine with 16 tools, which
pneumatically transfers tools, and selects tools from the nearest.
6. Base
Basic parts (pedestal, bed, column, etc) of the machine are of synthetic resin cast,
and have surpassed duration process. Rational structure design, perfect processing and
assembling technology ensures strength, rigidity and precision keeping of the basic
parts.
7. Protective guards
The whole machine is of streamline compact type, conforming to man-machine
operation engineering, with good waterproof, chip-proof and security function, featured
with rational and simple design and good appearance.
8. Accessories
Necessary parts for use and maintenance are supplied. They can also be made to
order from users.

(1) Transportation with pack
It is recommended to transport with forklift
A. The net weight of the machine is about 5.8 tons, the capacity of
the forklift must be larger than 5 tons
B. The overall dimensions of the machine is 3300×2280×2550. Pay
attention if there is obstacle in the way of transportation and
remove all the obstacles before transportation
C. Adjust the position of the fork to make the center of gravity stable,
for fear the machine tilts and so injures the machine and people.
Fork the machine from the side face instead of its front or its back.
In forking, there is guard plate in the foot. Please disassemble it in
advance. Any part of the machine should be at lease 15cm away
from the forklift.
D. The fork of the forklift should not be lifted too high, for fear it
injures human safety or damages the machine

6、Storage
(1) Store with packing
A. Before storage, all the moving parts must be fixed, machined faces
coated with antirust oil

B. The machine must be covered with waterproof bucker
C. Put some dehydrator into the pack according to the duration of storage
D. The temperature and humidity of the storage site should be proper, with
no direct sunshine, and the ambient temperature should not change rapidly
(2) Store with no packing
A. Before storage, all the moving parts should be fixed, machined faces
coated with antirust oil
B. The doors of everywhere should be locked, lest they move during
transportation
C. The machine must be covered intact with waterproof bucker.
D. Put some dehydrator into the machine according to duration of storage
E. The temperature and humidity of the storage site should be proper, with
no direct sunshine, and the ambient temperature should not change rapidly
F. Make sure the power switch is off, and the cable of the power source is
not connected
7. Installation
After the machine takes its place, first disassemble the fixing and
supporting part between the spindle and the worktable chamber,

A. To install the machine, first put the horizontal heel block well. The block
should be solid and bear the weight of the machine evenly. The foundation
should be smooth and firm with good bearing capability. If foundation is
needed to make, refer to the following installation illustration and
description.
B. Install the motor in Z axis (this motor is disassembled restricted by
packing dimensions).
C. Connect air source and adjust the pressure as 6kg/cm2 (Adjust the
pressure release valve of the triplet, and rotate and adjust it only after pulling
it down)
D. Remove the anti-rust oil on the worktable surface and the guide track
surface with a clean cloth, then coat a thin layer of lubrication oil.
E. Make sure the power source conforms to requirement. Connect with main
power, and be sure to connect with earth. The cable of the power source
must enter the electric cabinet from the bottom of the electric cabinet.
F. Power on and check the sequence of phases.
G. In hand wheel mode, move the spindle upward for about 10mm,
disassemble the supporting frame of the spindle.
H. Calibrate the machine.
J. Replenish proper lubrication oil.
8. Adjust levelness
Levelness adjustment affects precision of the machine. To keep the
precision of the machine and reduce its vibration, be sure to adjust levelness
fine carefully in the following steps:
A. Put the two level meters on the center of the worktable
respectively in left-right and front-back.
B. Adjust with the bolts in the four corners of the base to make the
levelness in the XZ face and YZ face both reach 0.02/1000
C. After the levelness in the directions of X axis and Y axis are
adjusted fine, adjust the other bolts, to make the weight of the

machine distributed to each bolt evenly. But pay attention that
this adjustment can’t impair levelness of the machine.
D. It’s recommended to check and adjust levelness at least every
half a year to keep precision of the machine and its machining
quality.
9. Check before turning on the machine
A. If the wiring, pipeline and each joint is ruined.
B. The voltage, frequency and phase of the master power source is correct.
C. Pay attention if there is person exposed in dangerous area.
D. When the master power is switched on, check if the spindle motor and
the axial flow fan run normally.
E. Switch on and off the machine according to the standard program. Note:
only electric professionals can do the work of connecting the power
source.
Ⅶ. Lubrication system
The machine has been filled with lubrication oil before delivery, but in
transportation, the oil may leak or be emulsified. After the machine takes its
place, check the lubricant immediately. If necessary, change or replenish
lubricant full. Improper lubricant will cause performance reduction or
breakdown of the machine.
1. Powered lubrication pump
A. It has switch for liquid level, which can give out warning signal
when the lubricant is not sufficient.
B. It has motor self-protective device to prevent over high temperature
or over load.
C. The capacity is 2L and filling 200cc/min.
D. After the machine takes its place and before it works, first carry out
mandatory lubrication.

Ⅷ.Pneumatic
This machine is designed energy-saving, with no hydraulic system.
Only steady air pressure of 6±0.5kg/cm2 is used.

1. It’s recommended for the user to adopt independent compressor to
provide air, because consumption of air will reduce the air pressure in
the system.
2. Requirement for specification of the compressor: flow of 200L/min
and pressure of 7kg/cm2.
3. To adjust the pressure, pull up (or down) the cock of the pressure
reduction valve of the triplet, rotate the cock clockwise to increase the
pressure and counterclockwise to reduce the pressure. The pressure is
read on the pressure gauge. Normal pressure is 6kg/cm2.
4. Spindle oil R22 is recommended as lubricant.
5. Please drain the water from the filter via the drainage switch.

Ⅸ. Cooling system
The power line of the coolant pump has been dismounted for
transportation and should be connected again by professionals after the
machine takes its place. Under the electric cabinet at the rear end of the
machine, there is an oil-water separating box, which should be filled with
coolant for about half a box after installation and before using coolant, to
prevent the collected lubricant entering the coolant box. When there is
excessive lubricant in the box, please take it down and pour out, but notice
to avoid environmental pollution. Fill coolant again for about half a box
after remounting it.

. Adjusting parallels and drawing of foundation
To keep stability and work precision of the machine, please make
concrete foundation according to the dimensions in the “drawing of
foundation”. The foundation should be poured onto solid ground.
After the machine is put on the foundation, first correct it preliminarily,
then pour concrete on foot screws, after condensation, fasten the screws
evenly, at the same time check levelness of the machine to keep its tolerance
as 0.02/10000 in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the worktable.
This machine can also use adjustable parallels. Before installation,
first install the adjustable parallels.
