JULY 1, 2019 – JULY 14, 2019
On Monday, July 1, Sgt. P. Williams and Deputy G. Desrosier arrested John Edwin Brier
(48), of Glen St. Mary, Florida, as a result of a traffic stop in White City. Brier had warrants
for his arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Battery with a
Deadly Weapon and Tampering with a Victim. The charges derived from an investigation
by Deputy G. Desrosier that began on June 23, 2019, when he was assigned to investigate
a report of a physical altercation at the Stump Hole on Cape San Blas Road. During an
argument with a female companion, Brier threatened to kill the victim and then cut her
with a knife. Brier then took the victim’s cell phone so that she could not contact law
enforcement. Brier fled the scene and remained at large until his apprehension.
On Tuesday, July 2, Deputy S. Sheline and Deputy P. Young were in the Overstreet area
taking a report of harassing phone calls. The person making the calls was Brian Keith
Bizak (34). Bizak had warrant for arrest which stemmed form an incident that was reported
to the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office on June 28, 2019. The warrant was for charges of
Battery, Domestic Battery by Strangulation and Tampering with a Victim. Deputies
located Bizak on Palmetto Drive and took him into custody. Bizak was transported to the
Gulf County Detention Facility.
On Tuesday, July 2, Deputy G. Desrosier responded to a report of a physical altercation
that occurred on Jehu Road in Wewahitchka. The aggressor in the altercation, Alana
Brooke McCoy (19), was located on Chipola Avenue. McCoy was placed under arrest and
charge with Battery.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, Sgt. L. Dickey received a report from an area hospital in regards
to a pregnant woman who was being treated for injuries following a battery incident. The
suspect was identified as Arthur Earnest Marlin Lanier (25). Warrants for Lanier’s arrest
were issued for Aggravated Battery on a Pregnant Person and Child Abuse without Great
Bodily Harm. Sgt. P. Williams and Investigators S. Ferrell and C. Harvey located Lanier
on July 5, 2019, and arrested him for the warrants.

On Tuesday, July 2, Investigator S. Ferrell conducted a traffic stop on Hurd Street in
Wewahitchka. The driver of the vehicle, Sidney Lee Robbins (26) had a warrant for her
arrest for Violation of Probation. Robbins was on probation for Possession of
Methamphetamine. Robbins was taken into custody and transported to the Gulf County
Detention Facility.
On Tuesday, July 2, Sgt. P. Williams arrested Champion Travis Traylor (38) at the Express
Lane in Wewahitchka. Traylor was wanted for Violation of Probation on the original
charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trespass and Grand Theft. Traylor was
transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility.
On Thursday, July 4, Deputy V. Everett responded to a report of a verbal altercation on N.
Hwy 71 in Wewahitchka. During an argument with another subject, Ronnie Ray Boone
(60) armed himself with a hatchet, causing the other subject to arm himself with a firearm
in defense. Only threats were made and both subjects disengaged without causing harm to
the other. Boone was deemed the aggressor so he was placed under arrest and charged
with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On Thursday, July 4, Sgt. R. Burkett was dispatched to the Overstreet area to investigate a
report of a physical altercation. Sgt. Burkett learned that Phillip Allen Rowe (36) had had
struck a co-habitant in the mouth with his hand. Rowe, who was still on scene, was placed
under arrest and charged with Battery.
On Friday, July 5, Deputy K. Newell responded to Duck Avenue in Howard Creek to
investigate a report of a prowler in someone’s back yard. Deputy Newell gathered a
description of the prowler and began canvassing the area. He located a subject riding a
bicycle in the area that matched the description he gathered. He and Deputy Page identified
the man as Ricky Wayne Luke (59). While speaking with Luke about why he was in
someone one’s back yard, they noticed he was very nervous about something in his back
pocket. Deputies patted him down and revealed he had methamphetamine and various
drug paraphernalia on him. Luke was arrested and charged with Possession of
Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Friday, July 5, the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an incident that
occurred on Indian Pass beach involving six at-large dogs that interfered with a nesting sea
turtle. Video footage of the event was captured by a witness. Beach Patrol Deputy C.
Kesterson reviewed the video was able to identify the owner of the dogs who was
subsequently charged with violating the leash law ordinance. The sea turtle was not
physically touched by the dogs. The incident was also reported to the Florida Fish and
Wildlife Commission.
On Friday, July 5, Deputy J. Page conducted a traffic stop on SR 71 near the intersection
of CR 386. During a driver’s license check of the driver, who was identified as Aaron
Barjames Touchet (43), Deputy Page learned that Touchet’s driver’s license was
suspended. Touchet was taken into custody and during a vehicle inventory, in preparation
to be impounded, Deputy Page found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia which

belonged to Touchet. Touchet was transported to the to the Gulf County Detention Facility
and booked for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and
DWLS/R.
On Saturday, July 6, Deputy D. Goodman travelled to the Okaloosa County Jail to pick up
Cesar Augusto Ponciano (31), who was being held on a Gulf County warrant for Battery.
The warrant was issued as a result of a Port St. Joe Police investigation.
On Saturday, July 6, Investigators C. Harvey and S. Ferrell located Jonathan Keith Barwick
(53) on Forest Street and arrested him on a warrant for Petit Theft. The warrant is a result
of a domestic altercation reported to the Sheriff’s Office on May 5, 2019, which involved
him stealing a purse. The purse was returned to the owner prior to the arrest.
On Saturday, July 6, Deputy P. Young stopped a vehicle on David B. Langston Blvd. in
Port St. Joe for traveling at night without having their head lights on. The driver of the
vehicle was identified as Carlos Montez Likely Jr. (29). It was learned that Likely’s license
was suspended so he was placed under arrest and charged with DWLS/R.
On Sunday, July 7, Deputy D. Goodman responded to Canning Drive in Wewahitchka to
investigate a report of a physical disturbance. The disturbance was an altercation between
co-habitants. Kyle Patrick Pfetzer (33) was identified as the aggressor in the incident and
was placed under arrest and charged with Battery.
On Sunday, July 7, Sgt. P. Williams arrested Wendy Lynn Woodman (41) on Writ of
Bodily Attachment out of Bay County. Sgt. Williams encountered Woodman while on a
service call on Palm Street in Wewahitchka. Woodman was transported to the Gulf County
Detention Facility to be held for the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, July 9, Deputy M. Manley travelled to the Bay County Jail to pick up Robert
Caine Maples (24) who was being held on a Gulf County warrant. Maples was wanted for
Violation of Probation on the original charges of Possession of Methamphetamine (x2).
On Tuesday, July 9, Deputy M. Manley arrested Megan Marie Sims (21) on a warrant for
Trespassing. The warrant stemmed from a report made to Deputy V. Everett on May 31,
2019, where Sims was found to be inside a camper that she did not have permission to be
in.
On Wednesday, July 10, Investigators S. Ferrell and C. Harvey stopped a vehicle on CR
381 and Violet Pippin Road for having an expired tag. Investigators identified two
occupants in the vehicle as Jason Michael Hormuth (39) and Sean Franklin Porras (42).
During the course of traffic stop Porras was found to be in possession of methamphetamine
and drug paraphernalia and Hormuth was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Hormuth was additionally charged with tamping with evidence after he was caught
throwing marijuana and methamphetamine into a ditch.

On Wednesday, July 10, Deputy M. Peek responded to Sandpine Drive on Cape San Blas
to investigate a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, Matthew Wesley
Kritzer (47), of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, was placed under arrest for Battery.
On Wednesday, July 10, Beach Patrol Deputy C. Kesterson was patrolling Indian Pass
beach behind Gulf Pines Drive when he observed a vehicle on the beach being driven in a
reckless manner. The vehicle was spinning in circles on the sand. Deputy Kesterson
stopped the vehicle and issued the driver a $500.00 citation for violating the beach driving
ordinance.
On Thursday, July 11, Deputy M. Peek was dispatched to Oliver Drive in Wewahitchka in
reference to a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, Logan Perry Blade
Bauer (18) was placed under arrest and charge with Battery.
On Thursday, July 11, Deputy G. Desrosier served an arrest warrant at the Gulf County
Detention Facility on Anthony Scott Reddick (27). Reddick was wanted for Violation of
Probation on the original charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and DWLS/R.
On Thursday, July 11, Deputy P. Young travelled to the Calhoun County Jail to pick up
William Earl Skipper (29) who was being held on a Gulf County warrant for Violation of
Probation. Skipper was on probation for two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine
and two counts of Obstructing a Criminal Investigation. Skipper was transported to the
Gulf County Detention Facility.
On Friday, July 12, Deputy S. Sheline responded to the 3000 block of S. Hwy 71 to
investigate a report of a suspicious person wandering around in another person’s yard.
When Deputy Sheline arrived, she encountered the suspect, who was still on scene. The
man was identified as Steven Edward Arthur (48). As Deputy Sheline was escorting Arthur
from the property, he dropped a small white container at his feet. Deputy Sheline saw him
drop item so she picked it up and inspected it. Arthur told her that it was “meth”. She
confirmed that it was and placed Arthur under arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine.
On Friday, July 12, Deputy M. Peek and Deputy S. Alday conducted a traffic on SR C30A
near the intersection of County Club Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as
Sharon Elaine Rogers (49). During the stop, Deputy Peek deployed K-9 Brix to conduct a
free air sniff around the vehicle. Brix alerted, giving deputies probable cause to search the
vehicle, which revealed a plastic baggie with methamphetamine in Rogers’ purse. Rogers
was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
On Saturday, July 13, Deputy M. Peek travelled to the Bay County Jail to pick up Eric
Larmark Harris (35) who was being held on a Gulf County warrant for Violation of
Probation. Harris was on probation for Sale of Cocaine (x2). Harris was transported to the
Gulf County Detention Facility to be booked on the warrant.
