Computation For Modulous of Subgrade Reaction: 'File:///conversion/tmp/activity - Task - Scratch/606111979.xls'#$intro

The document contains calculations to determine the modulus of subgrade reaction for a tunnel foundation resting on soil. It considers the ground level, excavation depth, total depth of excavation, and depth to rock level at a borehole location. It then performs calculations based on parameters like depth, slab dimensions, soil properties, and charts in a reference book to determine the modulus of subgrade reaction in kN/m^2/m at the base slab and diaphragm wall bottoms. It also provides a table of typical modulus of subgrade reaction ranges for different soil types.

Computation for Modulous of Subgrade Reaction
The Tunnel Type - I , for the initial approximate length of 60 m, rests on soil. So the modulous of
subgrade reaction for the soil is computed as per "Foundation Analysis & Design" by Joseph. E. Bowels.
For computation of the subgrade modulous the following are considered.
The calculations are carried out with reference to levels and properties at BH - 1, location.
Approximate Ground Level = 213.700 m
Approximate Level after final Excavation = -25.200 m
Total Depth of Excavation = 238.900 m
Therefore we need to find out the subgrade modulous at 238.900 m depth below GL.
Depth at which Rock Level starts = 33.000 m
Depth of Compressible Soil layer = -205.900 m
