Lesson Plan – Class 7 Social Science

Chapter 1: Kings and Kingdoms (Chola Dynasty and Their Administration)

General Objectives:
- Students will understand the rise of kingdoms in early medieval India.
- Students will appreciate the contributions of the Chola dynasty.
- Students will explore the features of Chola administration and governance.

Specific Objectives:
- Students will describe the emergence of the Chola dynasty.
- Students will identify the key features of Chola administration.
- Students will analyze the role of temples and local bodies under the Cholas.

Day-wise Breakdown:

Day 1: Introduction
Introductory Questions:
- Who were the powerful kings in ancient India?
- What do you think makes a king successful?

Activity:
Students will watch an animated video on the rise of the Chola Empire.

ICT Integration: Historical animation/video on Chola dynasty.

Days 2–5: Main Content Delivery
